A day-trip will take you deeper into Mayan life; you can fly to the stunning ruins of Tikal in the morning and be back in Antigua in time for cocktails. Tikal is one of the wonders of the world. From your base in Antigua you can play golf on a championship course, or snag a sailfish or you can simply relax and soak in the rich ambiance that makes Antigua famous.
There are beautiful restaurants, art galleries, lively bars, a theater and library. A multicultural, multilingual pueblo, La Antigua is also an authentic Guatemalan town. The cultural diversity is a combination of Mayan and Spanish heritage, which produced more than 22 Indigenous Languages that are still spoken in Guatemala today.
