Small Boutique hotels in Bruges |
A fairy-tale setting, the Venice of the north, a magical city, an open air museum - all of these could sum up Bruges. During the 13th and 14th centuries Bruges was an important European trading city. This prosperity can still be seen in the luxurious buildings from the period, interlaced with more recent Gothic Revival structures, all of which are wrapped in the medieval walls.
Some of the most visited buildings can be found in the Grote Markt (Big Market Square), where an interesting traditional market is held each Saturday. In this square the imposing belfry with its some 83 meter height affords an excellent panoramic view of the city and surrounding area.

This delightful city is built on a human scale: most of the pleasant streets are for pedestrians, it is relatively small, and there are many outdoor cafes to stop for a specialty beer as you stroll along. Another way to see the city from a different perspective would be a boat tour through the canals. A third, and equally appealing way to see the city, is renting a bicycle.
Most of our small luxury hotels in Bruges can be found around the Grote Markt, right in the center of town, although we have also selected some boutique hotels on the outskirts of Bruges, with all that has to offer. |
