Description: Château du Sureau

Chateau du Sureau is a fairy tale Inn that began as a way to accommodate the many out-of-town visitors to the award-winning Erna's Elderberry House Restaurant. The Inn has received some of the highest ratings granted a hotel. Since its opening in 1991, this magical destination has earned both the Mobil Five-Star and American Automobile Association's Five-Diamond awards as well as membership in the prestigious Relais & Châteaux organization.

Located just miles away from Yosemite National Park, it is a romantic haven wherein the classic traditions of old Europe live today. Resplendent inside and out, all guestrooms have fireplaces, deluxe bathrooms with silky plush bathrobes, over-sized tubs and separate chambers for the shower and toilet. Each room represents nothing less than a delight to the senses.

There is no front desk, no check in, no credit card imprinting (only a hand written bill discreetly presented before guests leave) and no televisions in the guest's rooms.

Enchanting experiences await every guest who visits The Estate by the Elderberries, where the transcendent accommodations and fine dining are in perfect tune with the unmatched quality of the pampering service.

There is also a two bedroom manor house called Villa Sureau. These rooms (Library Suite & Salon Suite) can be rented together or separately.

Booking and cancellation policy

Reservation policy: To secure reservation, a 50% deposit is required. They accept reservations up to one year in advance.

Cancellation policy: For cancellations made more than fourteen days prior to arrival- refund of deposit, less a 10% administrative fee, or hotel can hold payment and apply it in full towards a guests´ future booking. For cancellations made fourteen days or less prior to arrival- Guest will be held financially responsible for the entire length of booked stay unless a new guest takes the room.

Check in at 3:00 pm. and check out by 12:00 noon on date of departure. In advance special arrangements can be made for early arrivals or late departures.

A two-night minimum stay is required for Friday and Saturday arrival; holiday weekends may require a three-night stay. Holiday stays on a full pension plan require different rates, please inquire at time of booking.
