Guests enjoy the use of the entire heritage building including two guest lounges, shady vine-clad verandas and stonewalled terraces. The property is set in mature grounds within an area designated as being of outstanding natural beauty.
Claremont has something for everyone, from their 2-hour 4WD safari, mountain biking and river swimming to relaxing in their breathtaking garden spa pool, taking that lazy siesta under vine-clad verandahs or tucked up in a comfy armchair reading by the fireside. View the 50 million year old limestone escarpments and naturally weathered and formed sculptures, or walk and explore the Estate's 1600 acres farming deer, sheep and cattle, and well as 10 km of river frontage.

Other touches include fresh flowers, fresh fruit bowl, as well as coffee and tea making facilities. Your accommodation is serviced daily and all the ingredients for a good breakfast are provided.
Both the Claremont Luxury Suite/Garden Villa and the Owners Retreat Villa have luxurious bathrooms with a two-person spa bath and separate stall showers. These bathrooms are beautifully tiled and have large demist mirrors with theatrical lighting, heated towel rails and international shaver sockets. Thick towels, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryers and complimentary toiletries are all provided. No children under 14 yrs of age in the Suites or Villas.
The Fountain Suite: on the ground floor of the heritage homestead and has direct garden access and its own private verandah and ensuite bathroom.
The Claremont Luxury Suite, Lily Suite or Garden Villa: within a recently constructed wing to the heritage homestead and has its own private separate entrance.
The Claremont Luxury Suite: on the upper floor, is spacious and self-contained. There is an open plan living/dining/kitchenette, a spacious bedroom with separate dressing room and en-suite bathroom. This beautifully appointed suite is fully centrally heated and has air-conditioning.
The Lily Suite: is on the ground floor and has direct garden access with views to Mount Brown. It has a small private sitting room, with an ensuite bathroom.
The Garden Villa: provides a beautifully appointed 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom self-contained, two story Villa that is a spacious 124 sq m in overall floor area. This is ideal accommodation for two couples traveling together. It is equally suited to a couple traveling with two mature children over 14 years old.
The Owners Retreat Luxury Villa: This secluded and spacious 2 bedroom country Villa, set in the heart of the Claremont Estate, is a very private and tranquil sanctuary. The Villa has its own private garden with stunning views to the Deans and Mt Brown and distant views across the Waipara vineyards to distant Mt Cass. There are wide shady verandas and a large covered terrace. It is fully heated and air-conditioned. This Villa is ideal for two couples traveling together or for those couples with mature children. It is not available for Children under 14yrs of age.
The Claremont Family Cottage: This recently constructed award winning heritage cottage is child-friendly with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is situated near the original Claremont heritage homestead yet is screened off by a small mature wood lot. It has stunning views down the Waipara river valley and to Mt Brown and distant views across the Waipara valley to Mt Cass, shady verandas and its own courtyard with a large private garden. The Family Cottage is fully heated and air-conditioned and has easy care wood floors with oriental rugs in the living area and fully carpeted bedrooms. It was designed specifically for families travelling with younger children.
Maximum Occupancy: The Fountain Suite accommodates 2 adults. The Lily Suite accommodates 2 adults. The Claremont Luxury Suite accommodates 2 adults. The Garden Villa accommodates 4-adults. The Owner's Retreat accommodates 4 adults. The Family Cottage accommodates 2 adults and up to 3 children. This is the maximum number of guests accepted unless other arrangements have been made. A surcharge will apply for any additional people. A roll-away bed+ breakfast is charged extra +GST (tax).

Breakfast is included in all rates. For those staying in the Claremont Garden luxury suite, Lily Garden Suite and Fountain Homestead suite a full breakfast is served in the conservatory dining room. For those staying in the Owners Retreat Villa or The Claremont Family Cottage all breakfast provisions are provided in your accommodation. Breakfast includes fruit juice, a selection of fresh fruit, a choice of cereals, eggs, fresh breads, delicious croissants, butter and a selection of home made conserves and marmalade from the fruits of their own orchards, various teas, coffee and fresh milk.
Dinner option 1: Cold supper platter in your room by prior arrangement. They can provide a light evening meal of an attractive and tasty antipasto platter with cold meats, cheeses, olives, seasonal salads and pickles served with delicious locally baked bread accompanied by a bottle of fine local wine. This is available strictly by prior arrangement.
Dinner option 2: Claremont Table three course d?hote menu. For those guests who are looking for a complete dining experience, they offer a 3-course Claremont table d?hote dinner at the multiple award-winning Nor?wester restaurant located nearby in Amberley. There is a choice of three starters, three mains and three desserts. This is accompanied by two complimentary glasses of Waipara house wine per person. Bookings are essential but these can be made same day.
Dinner option 3: Chefs in-house fine dining by prior arrangement for groups of 4 or more people. Menus can be tailored according to your preference. An excellent local chef will prepare and serve a three course dinner in the Claremont dining room or in your Villa or Cottage. Pre-booking essential, sample menus and price on application.
Dinner option 4: There are several local restaurants, cafes or pubs within 10-15 minute drive.
Special Events: Claremont is an inspirational wedding venue for smaller, more intimate weddings with facilities for receptions and private celebrations for up to forty guests. Larger groups can be accommodated, during the summer months, with a garden function within the lovely grounds.
As a corporate and meeting venue, Claremont offers a relaxed environment to rejuvenate and stimulate participants and so make a success of any small corporate retreat, meeting, team building or private event. Exclusive use assures total privacy for that special meeting or conference.
Activities at Claremont Country Estate include optional Land Rover Safari, fishing, horse riding, river swimming etc.
Nearby activities: Christchurch City centre (55 min drive), Kaikoura and whale watching (1.5 hr scenic drive), and Hanmer Springs spa and thermal pools (50 min. drive). Some of the world's renowned golf courses, trout and salmon fishing rivers and hunting are within an easy drive.
Child Policy. Children under 2-years old are regarded as infants. Those from 2-yrs to 13-yrs are children and those aged 14-years and over are treated as adults and are welcome in the Garden Suites or the Owners Retreat Villa. They regret They are unable to accept younger children in the Garden suites or Garden Villa. The Family Cottage is specifically for those with younger children.
Cots/cribs (baby beds) and high chairs are available for infants on request for a fee charged per day.
Baby Sitting services can be arranged in the evening for young children in the cottage. The rate is per hour payable direct to the baby sitter. Pre-booking is essential.
City and airport transfers: self-drive is recommended. Ample secure off-street parking is available. Transfers are available by chauffeur driven limousine, by shuttle bus or by helicopter (price upon application).

|All costs, prices, and policies, including exchange rates and package deals, may change and should be confirmed with the hotel upon booking.
Travel Insurance: They recommend insurance that covers cancellation and they reserve the right to debit your credit card in accordance with their cancellation policy even if you do not have travel insurance. They suggest Comprehensive Travel Insurance Ltd who have developed a policy specifically for overseas residents traveling to New Zealand.
Cancellation Policy. Due to the intimate size, cancellations affect them greatly. They will apply the following policy, even if there is a good reason to cancel:
- More than 60 days prior to scheduled arrival: No Charge
- 60-30 days: an administration charge of NZD 250
- Within 30 days: one nights tariff
- Within 14 days: 100% is charged
- Peak season & group bookings (15th December to 15th January inclusive) or Group Bookings for 6 people or more cancelled within 60 days: 100% Cancellation Charge.
