Metohi Kindelis, dating back from the late Venetian period, was one of the few farms supplying the nearby town of Chania with fruit and vegetables.

A few years ago, the owner refurbished two parts of the old main building and converted them into two independent guesthouses. This task demanded a great deal of personal commitment and hard work coupled with imaginative care so that changes would not alter the character and style of the original structure and surroundings. The result is a retreat which provides relaxation and peace for those seeking to escape from city life.

Today, the farm is still flourishing, producing a variety of fruit, mainly strawberries, tangerines, oranges, avocados, apricots, pears, berries, peaches etc, all in a limited quantity. The products are certified by DIO, which is the official inspection body in Greece for organic agriculture.

Stepping into Metohi Kindelis is like entering another world. The property has several charming exterior communal areas for guests, the most impressive being the inner central courtyard. Paved with large pebbles and surrounded by the small rooms that used to be the workers' residences, it is a perfect introduction to the atmosphere of the farmhouse and the guesthouses.

The interior of the two guesthouses is a delightful revelation. The structure has been dictated by the existing building and any changes have been made with care in preserving the original character and authentic beauty of the property. For total relaxation close to nature, each house has private and independent pool area.

Each guesthouse can accommodate up to 4 guests. Daily maid, baby sitting or laundry service are available on request.

The ground floor unit, "DANAE" , is distinguished by its traditional minimalism. Stone walls, arches and rough wood retain their unsophisticated primitiveness. There is a well furnished sitting area with two sofa beds, an open plan kitchen - fully equipped with oven, fridge, coffee maker - and dining room with a stone fireplace, a gallery double bedroom and a charmingly designed bathroom (with bathtub & shower). Its private swimming pool is set on a large garden lawn surrounded by a variety of Mediterranean aromatic plants.
Amenities include telephone, television (on request), CD player and washing machine.

The middle floor guesthouse, "KYNTHIA" is distinguished by a more subtle touch. Views of the surrounding landscape framed by its six large windows, period furniture and a rather unusual Moroccan bathroom, are some of its special features. It consists of an open plan room with kitchen, dining area & a bedroom corner - with a double bed - a master bathroom, and a small separate bedroom with bunk beds & an ensuite shower/WC.
Amenities include telephone, television (on request), CD player, ceiling fan and air - conditioning. Its private swimming pool is set on a spacious paved area that is designed and equipped to be a stylish open-air house, offering various facilities such as kitchenette corner, shower/WC, sitting and dining area, telephone and music.
