Description: WentzlThe "Wentzl" hotel is situated in one of the most beautiful tenement houses of the Market Square. The 15th century Cellaris's family tenement called it "Under the Painting" because of a mural facade depicting the Virgin Mary and Child. There is a legend which tells us that the author of this mural paid his debts for meals and drinks to the owner by way of the mural. In 1792 John Wentzl founded the Wentzl Restaurant in this building, which receives wide recognition today and it has the reputation of being the best restaurant in Cracow. Many outstanding Guests (politicians and artists) are regular guests there.
