Additional facilities include library and a small boutique selling locally made handicrafts. Please see the hotels' website for information as to what to pack to visit the lodge, there is a weight restriction for the luggage of 30kg. There is no articficial light in use at Kapawi due the adverse effect it could have on the nocturnal animals so bring a torch!

The Lodge provides multiple activities that are characterized by its flexibility. They allow you to design, with your guide and group, the most suitable activity to meet your interests and physical condition. Nevertheless, most itineraries will include visits to the Achuar communities, hikes in the rain forest, canoeing and bird watching. According to your physical condition and not your age, they offer three alternatives:

Easy path: Short hikes in the rainforest (up to 3 hours) on the well-defined trails, visits to the Achuar communities and trips in canoes.
Moderate path: Medium distance hikes in the rain forest (up to 5 hours) and sometimes crossing flooded areas, along with visits to the Achuar communities and trips in canoes.
Difficult path: Demanding hikes that take many hours or days in poorly defined and often flooded trails. Porters will carry food and supplies. Trips on inflatable rafts down inaccessible rivers are offered. In some instances, exploration journeys to virgin areas are conducted. Excellent physical condition is required!
