Kamalame Cay is a 96-acre private island hideaway located off the northeast coast of Andros Island and is only accessible by private ferry. Designed by Bryan and Jennifer Hew, it has some of the best diving and fishing in the Caribbean and a three-mile white sand beach. Staying at Kamalame Cay puts you in the center of the best diving, snorkeling and fishing in the Caribbean and is the perfect choice for guests who value elegance, adventure, privacy and romance. An extremely calming place, interiors feature Indonesian furniture, brass bathroom fixtures and rows of French doors, platform tubs and sun decks. The great house serves fresh seafood with island spices. The islands are adjacent to the mainland of Andros Island, Bahamas. Commonly called "The Sleeping Giant," Andros is the largest island of the Bahamas, yet it remains largely unexplored and sparsely populated.

The rooms at Kamalame Cay are dreamily beautiful. They are large, with high ceilings and full of air and light. There are two lovely deluxe villas, each with two well- plus an attractive one-bedroom cottage suite. All of the villas have private patio areas off the bedrooms, huge walk-in closets, and ceiling fans or air conditioning. There are also five smaller cottage suites that have one large bedroom and expansive french doors that open right on the beach to invite the sea air and sounds of the surf. In addition four Marina rooms are now available.

Anglers Nest: Fronted by private verandas, the island's charming wood frame cottages overlook the marina and the Cay's less windy leeside cove. Marina Rooms are conveniently located nearest to the Great House, Tiki Bar, pool and reception. Each of these classically designed 600-square-foot cottages is divided into two airy private spaces furnished in relaxed beach style with removable muslin window panels, a stereo system and a selection of music, board games and books. A petite kitchenette is outfitted with glassware, ice buckets, tea, espresso, and coffee cups; the fully stocked fridge tailored to guest preference. En suite bathrooms are equipped with a shower, beach and bath towels, an array of Aveda products and plush terry robes

Cottage Suites: Seaside octagons wrapped in French doors and wide verandas, the island's five beach cottages offer expansive ocean views and supreme privacy just a few steps from the sugar sand seashore. Sapodilla North & South, situated within closest proximity to one another, are particularly suited for small families or couples travelling together At 700 square feet with lofty 17-foot ceilings, each peak roof, limestone and wood frame cottage features a large sun-washed bedroom with king or twin beds and is furnished in an array of island décor with removable muslin window panels, stereo systems and a selection of music, board games and books. Spacious en suite baths are equipped with sea view soaker tubs, and small kitchenettes are stocked with snacks, tea, espresso and additional items on request tailored to guest preferences prior to arrival.

Private Beach Rooms: Our Beach Rooms Driftwood and Mahogany consist of a single large room enhanced by a comfortable seating area. Each one has its own private entrance with a connecting door (lockable from both sides) allowing access to the adjoining room - perfect for families or groups of friends. These beautifully furnished rooms come complete with a fully stocked wet bar, Roman soaking tub, ocean views, and a covered veranda. As with all of our beach accommodations, breathtaking views and cooling sea breezes are a highlight.

1 Bed Island Villa Suite - Pigeon Plum: Our Beach Rooms Driftwood and Mahogany consist of a single large room enhanced by a comfortable seating area. Each one has its own private entrance with a connecting door (lockable from both sides) allowing access to the adjoining room - perfect for families or groups of friends. These beautifully furnished rooms come complete with a fully stocked wet bar, Roman soaking tub, ocean views, and a covered veranda. 2 Bed Island Villa Suite: The island's two bedroom villas, Driftwood and Mahogany, are fronted by generous, covered verandas and expansive gardens that fan out to a seashore arranged with palm shaded hammocks and beachside loungers. Furnished in classic plantation style, they are furnished with unique artwork, removable muslin window panels, stereo systems and a selection of music, board games and books. Spacious en suite baths are equipped with soaker tubs, and small kitchenettes are stocked with snacks, tea, espresso and additional items on request tailored to guest preferences prior to arrival. Spanning 2,900 square feet with 18-foot ceilings, these residences offer a spacious main suite that blends sleeping and living quarters with a full, open kitchen connected to a pair of smaller adjoining wings. Doors lock from both sides and each suite includes its own private entrance and terrace. These villas sleep four to six and are ideal for families or small groups of friends.

3 Bed Island Villa Suite: Perched on the highest point of the Cay, this very special three-bedroom (2,500-sqare-foot) villa was originally built as the owner's private hideaway. Comprised of four thatched roof pavilions with Androsian stone walls and entire pine tree trunks refashioned as exposed support columns, Silver Top offers a truly unique air of exotic, earthy chic. With splendid views both east and west and expansive terraces on both sides, guest enjoy the sun as it rises over a secluded white sand beach lapped by the Caribbean Sea and sets over lush creek-side mangroves. Furnished in South Asian decor with removable muslin window panels, Silver Top is also outfitted with a stereo system and a selection of music, board games and books. Tucked off the main pavilion and linked by covered passageways, the villa's trio of elegant bedroom are wrapped with private verandas, featuring soaking tubs and ocean or mangrove views. Silver Top can sleep up to six and is ideal for families, small groups of friends or couples travelling together.

4 Bed Island Villa Suite (New): The two-level, 6,000-square-foot Cocoanut is the island's largest villa and sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 Suites while offering an additional two bedrooms for support staff. Its vast great room offers panoramic ocean views and is lined in French doors that open onto a wide, wrap veranda on three sides. The open plan living dining room, offset with a full kitchen and free standing wet bar is accentuated by thoughtful interior accents and hand carved South Asian furnishings. Two of the four suites - each with an en suite bath with a soaker tub - are connected to the great room. The remaining two, also located on the villa's upper level, are connected as private wings via sweeping verandas.

4 Bed Private Villa: Attached to the mainland of Andros by a narrow strip of beach and reached via a 5-minute ferry, The Cove - the owner's fully staffed, four-bedroom home - offers total exclusivity. Perched atop a rocky bluff surrounded by four acres of pristine coral coastline and lush flowering jungle, this 7,500 square foot, peninsular villa offers panoramic ocean views. Accessed by a winding limestone pathway cut through a private garden of palms, bougainvillea, bamboo, oleander, kamalame trees, star lilies and birds of paradise, The Cove offers a truly secluded luxury retreat for up to 8 guests. With a trio of exclusive, white sand coves and a heated, freshwater pool at their personal disposal, The Cove offers guests ultimate privacy with complete access to the nearby resorts wide range of spa, sport, dining and nature diversions. Interiors are done in a breezy fusion of bamboo and rattan, piles of coffee table books, double height ceilings, Indonesian armchairs, seashells and slipcovers. Lined in flung-open French doors with ocean vistas on three sides, the whitewashed, 2,000 square foot Great Room is a sun-splashed seaside haven. Linked by indoor/outdoor walkways and interior gardens, a separate wing houses four, tastefully appointed bedrooms, each with en suite bath, veranda and views over the Caribbean. Aveda etc Accented with fine wine, spirits and champagne, dining at The Cove focuses on local seafood -line fish to lobster -alongside quality imported game and fowl, fresh tropical fruit and produce. Guests may order from the daily resort menus or design their own culinary experience with the villa's private chef. Outfitted with an al fresco stone grill, fully stocked pantry, and kitchen that opens onto the living room, residents who enjoy cooking are also welcome to craft their own meals. On-request kitchen and serving staff are available along with fresh, local ingredients pre-ordered from the Cay.
