The Teufelhof Basel offers a unique hotel experience, it is more appropriately known as a Culture and Guest House. The guests can explore the rich world of haute cuisine, theatre and art.

There are 2 hotels on the same site, one the 'Art Hotel' the other the 'Gallery Hotel'. Each is decorated by artists and designers for a limited period turning the hotel and all its rooms into exhibition space. There are 2 restaurants and a small theatre which opens mid-Sept to the beginning of May. The theatre programme includes cabaret, satire and concerts. Events with a special focus and one off events all make there contribution to a high-level and witty programme.

The «Art Hotel»: has eight rooms and a suite. Each of them is decorated as a work of art to live in. Like a show room encompassing installation-art for the private domain, making the art habitable and individually accessible to personal experience. All current art rooms were created by D. Thommy-Kneschaurek in July/August 2002.

The «Gallery Hotel»: has twenty rooms, each different in size, three suites and a junior suite. The rooms and halls are a large exhibition area for one artist who can present his works for a particular period. They have chosen three designers for the rooms' furniture: Kurt Thut, a Swiss designer, for some of the rooms, and Vico Magistretti and Achille Castiglioni, both Italian designers, for the other rooms.

Rooms do not have air conditioning.
"Art Hotel" does not have an elevator.
