Die mehr als 17'000 Inseln, die das indonesische Archipel bilden, ziehen sich auf einem Equatorstreifen von mehr als 5'000 Kilometern hin. Die Vielfalt, die das Land charakterisiert, ist beeindruckend, mit mehr als 300 ethnischen Gruppen und 250 Sprachen, die nebeneinander bestehen.
Java, Papua, Bali, Sumatra, Lombok oder Sulawesi sind nur die bekanntesten dieser Inseln, die sich durch die schönen Strände und das exotische kulturelle Erbe auszeichnen. Hervorzuheben ist die Fauna und Flora des Landes, die z.B. in den Naturparks von Kerinci Seblat, Bukit Barisan Seelatan, Lorente, Gunung Leuser, Comodo oder Ujung Kulon beobachtet werden kann.
In den Parks können endemische Arten wie der Paradiesvogel, der Komodo-Waran oder die Blume Rafflesia Arnoldii, die einen Durchmesser bis zu einem Meter haben kann, beobachtet werden. Aber das Juwel der indonesischen Fauna ist der Orangutan, der nur im Urwald von Sumatra und Kalimantan lebt. Der Wassersport und alle Arten von wassersportlichen Aktivitäten ziehen viele Besucher an: Tauchen, Surfen, Segeln, Ausflüge mit dem Boot.
