Hotelito uses solar energy only for all the energy needs of the hotel. At night, hundreds of candles light the rooms and restaurant. Luminaries light the pathways that meander throughout the resort.

This uncommon resort has been constructed in the style of an old Mexican fishing village. Accommodations are in 'Palafitos', bungalows of indigenous construction, built on stilts over the edge of the estuary that surrounds the main group of structures. The décor of each Palafito has been modeled after the Mexican lottery, a type of bingo game that uses images rather than numbers. Bathrooms have bamboo showers that provide privacy while giving the feeling of extending out into the garden.

Candles provide illumination at night,. Cleverly disguised solar panels and hot water holding tanks are located outside each room, where water for showers is stored until needed. It's easy to disconnect here, in fact it's mandatory, with no phones, no neighboring restaurants, nightclubs, or shopping, only delicious tranquility for those in search of seclusion. PRESIDENTAIL SUITE: Three Palafitos in one, our largest in the resort has one palafito with a private bar, living and dining area, the second palafito has a shower, bathtub and your own private Sauna, the third palafito is the bedroom with a king size bed. It also has a private pool and Jacuzzi, a Temascal (Sweat lodge) and a private tower where you have panoramic views of the ocean and the resort.
