Beschreibung: Saadani Safari LodgeSaadani Safari Lodge, set in a bay on the East coast of Tanzania in Africa, is famous for the spirit of friendship from the local community and staff. Costa Coucoulis, a passionate nature-lover, fully-renovated and refurbished an existing property with creative style and sympathy to the natural environment to make Saadani Safari Lodge more than an exotic boutique hotel. The fifteen, large airy tented cottages with their cool grass roofs and wooden frames are strung along the beach. All have an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water and feature an unrestricted view onto the ocean with a full-length veranda. King-size beds were carved in the Zanzibari-style. All double rooms come with an "Al Fresco" double bed on the veranda for ultimate lazing. One of the things that makes Saadani Safari Lodge truly unique is the nearby mix of different ecosystems. From the delights of the Wami River where a stone's throw from the open sea you can boat past pods of hippo, the lodge also offers game driving and bush walking to explore the plentiful wildlife in the natural bush. Out at sea, a sand island is a lovely spot for picnics and snorkeling in warm tropical waters. Beschreibung der Zimmer: Saadani Safari LodgeMaximum occupancy is two adults for each room. One extra bed only for a child may be possible. There are four twin bedded rooms.9 Classic Bandas: Nine individual tented cottages set along the beach, cooled by soft ocean breezes and shaded by casherina trees. The Classic bandas are light and airy with cozy day beds on the verandas for afternoon siestas or nights sleeping almost under the stars. Cottages are twin or double with swathes of sail cloth adorning the ceilings, large romantic Zanzibar style nets and locally carved furniture. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with solar-heated shower and flush lavatory, a full-length veranda, with unrestricted sea views. Double classic rooms have a day-bed on the veranda for sleeping al fresco under the star-splashed skies; twin rooms have a couch. 5 Maridadi Suites: meaning elegant in Swahili, the organic design of these new suites is simply elegant. The collection is made up of three individual and one conjoined (family) suites. Constructed using grass collected in the local village giving a wonderful ambiance and light to the spacious interiors. Inside, under a thick thatch roof, is a more contemporary-looking double bed of chunky dhow wood, with nets and vibrant red cushions/runner; there's a desk, a sitting area and an indoor shower with solar hot water as well as an outdoor courtyard shower room. En-suite facilities are common for all with twin vanity units and private balconies. The courtyard showers allow guests to shower in complete privacy and enjoy the stars at night. 1 Siri Suite: Built especially for honeymooners and romantics, the newer Siri Suite means 'secret' in Swahili. Reached by a private walkway over a dry river, the Siri suite provides the luxuries of ultimate privacy and minimal disturbance. It comes with its own swimming pool, solar powered shower and an al fresco shower, a kitchen with chef, a bar and a personal butler. A boat will collect you from your private beach to take you to the Wami River and the small coral garden at the end of the sand bank; or a vehicle will wait for you at the end of the pier to take you on a private safari. Set on a sand dune, the Siri suite provides both the spectacle of the sun rising over the Indian Ocean and the contemplative sight of sunset over the African bush in perfect solitude. With awesome views of the Indian Ocean and National Park, the suite was designed with the sun in mind, tracking it as it passes through the day. Zusätzliche Information: Saadani Safari LodgeDining: Seafood is a specialty, in particular the feasts of fresh prawns that are brought from the sea to the lodge kitchens daily. The restaurant and kitchen focus on the freshest seafood fusion dishes. Vegetarian menu is available with previous notice. There is a full stocked bar offering fine wines, spirits and cigars.
Beach: The white sandy beach at Saadani Safari Lodge disappears to the horizon in both directions. You can pad barefooted directly from your veranda onto the beach for a gentle stroll or to watch the fisherman bringing in their prawn nets. The beach itself is unspoiled and as nature intended, no souvenir salesmen or hawkers here only the cry of a fish eagle and the gentle lapping of the waves. As Saadani Lodge nestles in a small bay the sea water recedes at low tide and returns at high tide making swimming not possible at all times. What makes Saadani?s beach unique however is the various footprints you can find imprinted in the sand. Nowhere else in the world can you walk on a beach following the footprints of a lion! Note: high tide makes swimming not possible at all times. Honeymoon: An Africa Honeymoon can be the ultimate romantic getaway. Africa has always had a certain aura and mystery about it that makes it a very special place for a Honeymoon. Imagine a candlelit romantic dinner for two, served in total seclusion, right in the heart of the African wilderness, or lazing back after a day of spotting the big four, staring at the brightly lit stars without a care in the world, listening to the call of the wild. A luxury African safari has all the ingredients for the perfect honeymoon where you can enjoy adventures together in beautiful romantic places. Sitting together by the waterhole; watching spellbound as families of elephant emerge from the bush to drink, gliding lazily down the Wami River at sunset, and having a candlelit dinner set out just for the two of you. The award winning Siri suite has seen visitors from Presidents to supermodels and is the epitome of rustic chic; perched on top of a sand dune it commands views over the Indian Ocean as well as the national park. A private pool and bar are serviced by your own butler and security is proved by the resident leopard. Activities: The different ecosystems sets Saadani apart from all the national parks in Tanzania. The Blue haze of the Indian Ocean washes over Lowland coastal forests, acacia woodlands, open grasslands and mangroves. Saadani Safari Lodge set in the heart of the park offers an idyllic retreat to explore this most unique and distinguished destination. ?Walking safaris ?River boat safaris ?Snorkeling off the sand bank ?Game drives ?Swahili Village tour ?Maasai community tour ?Bird walks Sea Safari: Out at sea there is a small tidal sand island set in clear waters, which makes a lovely full day ocean boat trip. Here you can picnic lunch under shade on the cool island sand and there are good snorkeling spots just off shore. Dolphins and green Turtles are often seen at the island and love to play around the boat. Safety and guest comfort are of paramount importance so no sea safaris when the winds are high or the sea rough. Typically in December and January when the Kas-kazi trade winds pick up it is not possible to offer the sea safari. Note: No Sea Safaris with high winds, typically Decmber & January. Land Safari: Saadani National Park has the distinction of being one of the last remaining protected coastal areas in East Africa. Truly native plants have nourished providing a rich tapestry of habitats to a vibrant and abundant wildlife population. Wildebeast, antelope, duiker, reedbuck, zebra and giraffe amble the savannah plains whilst populations of buffalo and elephant seek solace from the heat of the sun and laze in the shade. Lions, leopards, mongoose and other predators also relax in cool spots awaiting the sun to set before embarking on their nocturnal hunting. River Safari: Explore the wonders of the famous Wami River, a paradise for Bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts alike. Located just 16km by road from the Lodge the Wami River is an overwhelming example of natural beauty. Date palms fringe the water edge whilst king fishers and weaver birds dart amongst their dappled shade. Fish eagles and storks fly sorties high above the brackish water seeking tiger and cat fish displaced by the enormous steps of the resident hippopotamus. Nile crocodiles line the banks absorbing the powerful rays of the African sun whilst cautiously regarding the slow progress of the boat. Conservation & Sustainability: The Lodge is run in the most sustainable way, reducing negative impact as far as possible and helping poverty stricken areas through sustainable forms of tourism. Saadani Lodge is committed to putting back into the community in collaboration with guests.
