Sitting at the edge of the desert, Dar Hi is located in the Tunisian town of Nefta, with its salt lake, palm groves and natural hot springs. Built with traditional local materials, this design hotel offers original and charming decor,including circular rooms, fireplaces and palm wood roofs. With its panoramic views of the lake and surrounding dunes, the surrounding area has been a popular location for filming, including The English Patient and Star Wars.

All of Dar Hi's air-conditioned rooms are soundproofed and feature private bathrooms and, in most cases, patios or terraces. Food served at Dar Hi is organically grown in the hotel garden and prepared by local cooks, allowing guests a taste of traditional Tunisian cuisine.

An ideal getaway, Dar Hi has its own spa and wellness centre offering a range of treatments including hot spring baths and a variety of massages. Yoga sessions are also available. Guests can also take advantage of a series of activities, including cookery lessons, trips to nearby oases or a visit to the Star Wars Tatooine film set.

Dar Hi has four types of accommodation, each with its own theme: air, rock, sand, and tradition. All Dar Hi's rooms are air-conditioned and soundproofed and include private bathrooms with free toiletries.

Piloti House: Set on pilotis, or pillars, these rooms have glass walls with views of either the salt lake or the palm groves. Equipped with a large double bed, the rooms also have a private terrace.
Troglodyte Room: Based on the Matmata cave houses, these detached structures are designed around a central circular area with access to the bedroom, with its large double bed or two singles, the private bathroom with shower, and the patio. The rooms are a spacious 70 sq m and come with radio and iPod Docking Station.
Dune Room: The three areas known as the Dunes boast individual desert designs that include such elements as an indoor garden, a large terrace and views of the date grove. All of the rooms are fully-equipped and have 35 sq m of space.
Traditional House: Dar Malika is a traditional Tunisian house in the local village, ideal for entertaining and with access to the hotel's amenities.
