Originally designed and built in 1965 by a disciple of Le Corbusier, Le Grand Large enjoys a spectacular location on the beachfront at Dolus d'Oléron on the Île d'Oléron. After a long and chequered history, this spectacular boutique property has recently undergone a thorough renovation and restoration, and now offers exclusive accommodation and fine cuisine in a privileged oceanfront setting.

Ideal for relaxing visits to this beautiful island, Le Grand Large is within easy reach of all Île d'Oléron's most important sights and attractions, including Le Château d'Oléron, with its famous walled town and citadel. Boat trips are available from Boyardville to Fort Boyard and Île d'Aix. A haven for sports enthusiasts, especially hikers and cyclists, the island has more than one hundred kilometres of clearly marked bike trails, as well as countless footpaths. Its seemingly endless beaches are perfect for surfing, sailing, wind-surfing and snorkelling, or simply sun-bathing on their fine white sands.

Le Grand Large hosts an excellent gastronomic restaurant, offering the finest regional cuisine accompanied by an extensive wine list, all in the spectacular setting of the elegant dining room, with a panoramic view of the ocean and magnificent sunsets. "Garden" Prestige Room:
With view to the garden, the spacious prestige rooms are furnished in a modern style and feature an open-plan bathroom wjith an Italian shower. One queen-size double bed. Room size 21 sq m.
Saint Trojan Room:
Overlooking the dunes, this room is located on the ground floor of the hotel. It is decorated in a contemporary style, with high-end designer furniture and an open-plan bathroom with an Italian. shower. It is equipped with a 10 sq m terrace of which provides direct access the beach. One king-size bed. Room size 21 sq m.
"Ocean" Prestige Room:
The "Ocean" prestige rooms are situated on the 2nd floor, with delightful views of the sea and the setting sun. The rooms are furnished in a modern style, with an open bathroom with an Italian shower. One queen-size bed. Room size 20 to 22 sq m.
Boyardville Rooms:
Overlooking the dunes, these two rooms are located on the ground floor of the hotel. One of the two rooms has a sitting area with a sofa bed for children or adults. They are equipped with a 12 sq m terrace for private access to the beach. One king-size bed. Room size 27 sq m.
"Chassiron" Prestige Room:
These large rooms feature a a living area with a convertible sofa-bed (140 cm). Room with alliance door. These light filled rooms area furnished in a modern style, and feature an Italian shower and designer furniture. One queen-size bed. Room size 31 sq m.
"Vertbois" Prestige Room:
The Vertbois prestige room is very spacious, with views to the garden. These bright, light-filled rooms feature designer furniture, Burmese teak parquet, a large bathroom with a free-standing bathtub and an Italian shower. They also feature a large terrace. One queen-size bed. Room size 31 sq m.
Panoramic Room:
Located on the second floor of our hotel, these rooms have large windows with panoramic views of the dunes and the sea. Decorated in a contemporary style with high-end designer furniture and an open-plan Italian style bathroom, they also come with a bathtub overlooking the ocean. One king-size bed. Room size 37 sq m.
Saint Georges Room:
This room on the ground floor has a view of the dunes. It has a sitting area with a sofa bed of 120 cm for children or adults. It is also equipped with a 30 sq m terrace which allows direct access to the beach. One king size bed, one sofa bed. Room size 37 sq m.
