Descripción: Pink Sands

Pink Sands, located on Harbour Island, is an 18-acre haven on one of the most famous beaches in the world. Designed by Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki, (who designed the Marlin, the Kent and Compass Point), its 25 cottages are secluded in the midst of lush foliage and decorated in a mix of styles from Moroccan to Indian and Balinese. It's the perfect choice for guests who value luxury, privacy, romance and verdant beauty. It occupies the only stretch of beach on Harbour Island, the Island's sandy beach, sheltered by a barrier reef, is made up of red coral mixed with white sand, giving it a pink tone. From the louvered Blue Bar, the sand is an expanse of creamy pink, and the water graduates from teal to navy blue, and the air is always rippling with the sound of birds. It's the perfect choice for a romantic getaway or a personal retreat. The rooms at Pink Sands are secluded, romantic, airy and spacious and designed with private patios for relaxation. The island is only 3.5 miles long and half a mile wide with a resident population of just 2,000. Many of the buildings on the island date from the early 19th century. The best way to get around the island is by bicycle or golf cart.

Ocean view rooms: Oceanview rooms are privately situated with views to the Atlantic Ocean and pink sand beach and have a private pathway to the beach. The one-bedroom oceanview can accommodate 2 adults. The two-bedroom oceanview cottages have a sitting room/lounge that separates the bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms and can accommodate 4 people. There is a deluxe two-bedroom oceanview (Bimini cottage) that has a private Jacuzzi on the large outside deck overlooking the beach.

Garden view rooms: One or two-bedroom accommodations are privately situated amongst lush tropical grounds just off the main pathway to the beach. A one-bedroom gardenview can accommodate 2 adults. The two-bedroom gardenview has a sitting room/lounge separating the bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms and can house 4 people.

In addition there are CD players and CD libraries, TVs/VCRs, Multi-line telephones. The Garden restaurant serves Caribbean fusion cuisine and The Blue Bar serves drinks, lunch and snacks by the beach. Pink Sands is located just 50 miles east of Nassau on Harbour Island, and can be easily reached from anywhere in the United States, as well as from most major cities in Europe and South America. Pink Sands is 20 minutes from the North Eleuthera international airport (ELH) by land and water taxi transportation.

Air Transportation
The nearest airport is North Eleuthera international (ELH) and is serviced from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Nassau.

From USA connect via Ft. Lauderdale or Miami to North Eleuthera on Continental Connections or American Airlines. There are a couple of flights a day. North Eleuthera is our local airport and is approximately 20 minutes from the hotel. A Pink Sands representative will greet hotel guests upon arrival at the airport and escort them from the North Eleuthera Airport to the hotel. The trip involves taking a 15 minute taxi ride to the dock, a 5 minute water taxi across to Harbour Island and then another 15 minute taxi ride to Pink Sands. Transport is always available.

From Europe ...British Airways flies direct London to Nassau and then we recommend connecting on a 20 minute charter flights from Nassau to North Eleuthera. So guests do NOT need to overnight in Nassau.

There is a fast Ferry that leaves Nassau daily for Harbour Island at 8:00 AM and arrives at 10:30 AM. Costs $60 pp one way. The same ferry returns from Harbour Island to Nassau leaving at 3:50 PM arriving Nassau at 6:20 PM. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME IT RUNS. THE FERRY PORT IS A 45 MINUTE TAXI FROM THE NASSAU AIRPORT.
