During the 18th century Montpelier was a working sugar plantation.
Today the 30 acre estate is a secluded retreat from the hectic pace of distant shores. Most of the sugar fields have given way to tropical vegetation, though a small portion of land is still farmed for sugar that is used in the kitchens of Montpelier.
Under the guidance of Montpelier's Executive Chef, Mark Roberts, the kitchen specializes in using locally grown produce and spices to delight the senses.

There are eight rooms with two double beds and nine with king-size beds.
All of the Inn's rooms are alive with the light of the Caribbean and offer both comfort and stylish living. Their spacious rooms offer views of the sea and the lush hillside. Rich fabrics and furniture are an elegant mix of traditional and tropical design. Each room has a private veranda open to the sun, to the wind and to the sea.

Children 8 years and older are welcome. Rooms offer either air conditioning or over-head fans, tea and coffee making facilities and Gilchrist and Soames amenities. Activities include horse-riding, hiking, wind surfing and cultural activities include: Horatio Nelson & Alexander Hamilton Museums, Bath House with 18th Century thermal baths, historic churches, art galleries and day trips to St. Kitts or St. Barts.

Cómo llegar: From the U.S., Canada and Europe, there are four primary gateways to Nevis: St. Kitts, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten and Antigua.
From the U.S. and Canada: The most common route is direct into St. Kitts. American Airlines has daily direct flights from Miami and twice weekly direct flights (Sundays and Wednesdays) from New York JFK. USAir has once weekly direct flights (Saturdays) from Charlotte, North Carolina. Delta has once weekly direct flights (Saturdays) from Atlanta, Georgia. There are also daily flights from San Juan, Puerto Rico to St. Kitts on American Eagle. The American Eagle service from San Juan to Nevis will start again in November 2009.
From France: St. Maarten is the most common gateway followed by a short WinAir flight to either St. Kitts or Nevis.
From the UK: British Airways is now flying direct from London into St. Kitts (via a short stop in Antigua) on Saturdays. British Airways also has daily direct flights into Antigua. Virgin Atlantic has thrice weekly flights (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays) into Antigua. From Antigua to Nevis you can take either a private charter or a scheduled flight on LIAT.
St. Kitts Airport Transfers: Let us know what flight you are on and a Montpelier representative will meet you at the airport upon your arrival and assist with the ferry transfer to Nevis. There are two ferry options to Nevis: private/semi-private water taxi or the public ferry. Due to limited public ferry schedule we advise you to consider the private water taxi for a swift and easy transfer. Please contact the hotel for more information so that we can offer you any assistance with your transfer and advise you of pricing and specials.
Nevis Airport Transfers: Arriving in Nevis is easy, simply walk out of the airport and take a waiting taxi to Montpelier. Enjoy a short drive along the coastal road to Montpelier.

Room rates are per room per night and include full English breakfast and afternoon tea, use of the Inn's private beach with complimentary transfers, tennis court, books and DVD library.

MAP supplement is available at 65USD per person per day (excluding tax and service) when requested at time of booking for the entire stay.

MINIMUM STAY:
A minimum stay of ten (10) nights at Montpelier is required for periods overlapping Christmas Day and New Years Day.
PAYMENT:
Montpelier is equipped to handle most forms of payment including cash, USD travelers cheques and all major credit cards.
DEPOSIT:
A 50% deposit of the total value of the reservation is required to confirm a reservation. For reservations over the Christmas and New Years period, a 100% deposit is required.
CANCELLATION AND NO-SHOWS:
VERY IMPORTANT: Please make note of your reservation dates and inform us of any discrepancies immediately. Due to our intimate size, island location and seasonality, late cancellations affect us significantly. Therefore, we must adhere to a strict cancellation policy.
TIMELY CANCELLATION: Your deposit, less 5%, will be refunded provided we receive notice of cancellation not less than THIRTY days prior to arrival, and SIXTY days for the period overlapping Christmas or New Years.
LATE CANCELLATIONS: Within THIRTY days of the arrival date (or SIXTY days for the period overlapping Christmas or New Years), we cannot refund the deposit regardless of the reason for cancellation. The entire deposit is forfeited as the agreed upon late cancellation fee. The same is true for stays which are shortened, no shows or early check outs. In the case of early check out, the deposit will be applied to any cancelled night of a confirmed reservation. As there are no refunds due to medical emergencies, bad weather, flight and ferry cancellations, etc., you may wish to consider purchasing Trip Insurance.
TROPICAL WEATHER: In the unfortunate circumstance that the island is placed under a hurricane WARNING within 72 hours of your arrival, your deposit, less 5%, will be refunded provided we receive notice of cancellation.
