Plettenberg Park is an exclusive and unique hotel found in the heart of the South African Garden Route and yet only minutes away from the holiday mecca of Plettenberg Bay. The hotel is situated in a private nature reserve, nestling on a cliffs edge, offering dramatic and sweeping views of the Indian Ocean. Here uniqueness and time honoured values such as excellent personal service and superb cuisine are paramount. They have been host to many such travelers as Nelson Mandela and Richard Branson amongst many others. The hotels open spaces and the symmetry of both natural and man made structures play many roles at plettenberg park, not only in terms of the panoramic views across the ocean and savannah behind, but also within the architecture of the hotel itself. The interior of the hotel is somewhat contemporary, with a dash of sophistication and mixed with local ingredients reflecting the trends of today. The architecture is refreshingly simple, with long lines running unobstrusively though the length of the building resulting in spacious windows and wide terraces. The decor consists of natural tones that permeate throughout.

It is an all weather hotel, brilliant and lazy in summer sunshine, with spectacular views of the ocean, whilst in winter experience the wild, blustery and enveloping days saturated with log fires and wraps. The chef will discuss the menus with you in person during the day and will happily create a menu around your specific needs or preferences, ensuring that the presented fare is exactly to your liking and taste. You can dine whenever and where ever you choose, indoors outdoors, around the pool by candlelight or on the sea deck by lantern light. If you prefer to eat out there are several fine restaurants in the area and their staff will be willing to recommend a choice of establishment to suite your preference.

The hotel is situated on 200 HA of land with approximately 3 km. of cliff faced shoreline. The park has 3 natural wetlands plus a large dam filled with bass. The indiginous vegetation consists of fynbos and proteas. The park abounds with small game and animals. Over 65 bird species have been noted on the reserve.
It has an outstanding coastline which is an excellent platform from which to view the humpback whales that visit this stretch of ocean in winter, as well as the numerous schools of dolphin that are playful residents all year round.

Robberg nature reserve is just a short distance away. Hike on any well signposted trails to nearby Kranshoek bay and discover its spectacular wave lashed shores. Canoeing trips are available at the lagoon. Boat trips can be arranged to view the seals, dolphins, sharks, penguins, sea-birds and whales
Visit Monkey Land, a primate sanctuary for captive bred species. There is birdwatching in the wetlands or the inland afromontane woods.
Experience the world famous storms river canyon, playground to river rafting, climbing, bungi-jumping, kloofing, mountain bike trails, bass and fly-fishing, diving and snorkelling.
Golf, tennis and squash facilities are all available locally proximity.
