Nestled in the picturesque landscape of the Nockberge region, the Art-Lodge is situated in Verditz on a 16,000 square metre plot of land with fruit trees, pastures and a boule pitch. Located at an altitude of 1,058m and only 2 hours from the Adriatic Sea and directly on the slopes and about 300m above the Middle Station, the ski area of Verditz has exactly the right formula to give real pleasure to those who like to relax while skiing or snow boarding.
Art-Lodge is not only in the heart of Carinthia, but also very well connected. An approximately 40 minute drive from Klagenfurt Airport (scheduled services from RyanAir, Lufthansa, and TUIfly), and about 20 minutes from Villach train station. From Salzburg you drive approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. To Slowenia and Italy it's a drive of about 40 minutes; and those who like to see the Mediterranean Sea just drive the 2.5 hours to Trieste or 3 hours to Venice.
The Art-Lodge has made her home in the old "Rohrerhof", a former farm with history dating back over 300 years. The farm buildings have been extended continuously. The most recent activities were to renovate and modernise the main building, and to convert the old barn into a comfortable and cosy guest accommodation. An old farm has been given a new lease on life. The quality of the old and valuable elements was carefully considered when certain modern environments were created. At the same time, some simple details were pushed into the focus to emphasise their heritage. Classic design, modern fixtures, vibrant colours, and individually constructed design elements have merged to create a unique yet cosy ambience. Foremost, within this context, works of contemporary artists gain a new dimension. For those looking for wellness the old carpenter stable with sauna and infrared-cabin is the place to be.

Within the structures of the old buildings, there are two single rooms, one double room, four superior rooms and five suites. Each of these units is unique in design, material selection and furnishing.
The attention to detail is of a superior standard. From the bathrobes, digital satellite TV, WiFi and DVD player (on request), to free drinks from the self-service bar situated on every floor, you'll find everything you need to relax. Two suites can be used as family suites as each has 2 bedrooms. All rooms and suites have a balcony and/or terrace, two of them facing the south and pool-area, whilst all others have a panoramic view of the Southern Alps.
Each room is unique in its shape, design, and furnishings. All rooms feature a shower and/or bath tub with WC, bathrobes, hairdryer, satellite tv, etc.

All senses will be tantalised in the intimate restaurant which seats 24. Here, fresh from the neighbourhood, Bio-meat is used in recipes from different countries and continents which have been incorporated into our menu. Where Cross-over-kitchen meets design meets traditional.
Sumptuous dishes, elegant décor, and good music served to you in breathtaking surroundings 5 evenings a week. On the other days, guests have the opportunity to sample traditional Carinthian cuisine in nearby restaurants. To enhance the flavours, the restaurant is non-smoking.
During the day the art-lodge is reserved for houseguests.
Activities:
The Great Outdoors. With 16,000 square meters, there is more than enough space at the art-lodge. There is even a biological pool and a small wellness hut.
There are endless possibilities for those who like to combine beautiful landscapes with being active: 15 golf courses, cycling and mountain biking trails, walking and jogging trails, horse riding trails, and more than 100 lakes etc. And for those who like to aim higher, Eldorado in the neighbouring resort of Gerlitzen is the place to be for paragliders.
Individual activities, for example hikes, excursions, Nordic walking tours, ski safaris, mountain biking, etc., can be organised depending on the demand and weather. In the sunny courtyard is a bio-pool, surrounded by a decked viewing area and a small spa house in the old carpenter shed. As yet untouched is the Troadkastn, a tiny former storehouse for grain built in 1745.
Children are welcome, but structured animation programmes are not the norm as there is plenty of nature to explore, as well as farms with real animals and hopefully a lot of quality time with the children. For everyones benefit and maximum comfort, the art-lodge has 2 family suites which have separate bedrooms for the children.
Shuttle service is available on request to and from airports, the resorts of Gerlitzen and Bad Kleinkirchheim, restaurants, etc.
