This hotel is an excellent example of a 19th Century Ottoman stone house. In fact, the hotel's charming owner was born in this very house, so maybe that is why such meticulous care was taken to ensure that none of the building's original character was sacrificed in the transformation. She has restored and decorated it to give guests a glimpse into the Istanbul of yesteryear.

Arena Hotel is located in the old city part of Istanbul called Sultanahmet, known as one of the biggest open air museums of the world.

Public areas have been decorated with antique furniture in order to give a warm and elegant atmosphere. In the lobby there is a 2.5 meter high, 16th Century, 24 carat gold-leaf mirror, a hand-made velvet bridal "Kaftan" embroidered with gold threads, as well as a 19th Century seating group which surrounds a display housing examples of Turkish silver household items. Other features include an 18th Century Vienna Console stone mirror with intricate Hand-made designs on the frame, and a unique Chinese-style hand-embroidered silk prayer rug.

In the garden there is an antique fountain and the sides of the garden bar are covered with Kandira stone. The Hotel entrance has a hand-made ceramic Tree of Life panel. According to Selcuk Turkish tradition, it will bring good luck.

There is an indoor restaurant that seats 30. The Delight Restaurant is within easy walk to the main Hippodrome area, as well as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the convenient public tram. The restaurant serves delicious Turkish and continental cuisine for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Fresh fish is available every day. If you are a wine lover, they have a variety of excellent Turkish wine. You are sure to find a traditional Turkish dessert at the end of the meal.

They provide full on-site laundry and ironing facilities for the hotel and its guests.
