Château de Mazan is the former residence of the Marquis de Sade; it is grand, elegant and set in beautifully landscaped gardens; it has been lovingly restored and renovated, and is suitably sumptuous without being excessive.

Located in the pretty village of Mazan, the Hotel Château de Mazan is within easy reach of the great cultural hub that is the city of Avignon and close to the many wonders of Provence and the south of France.

Set in stunning landscaped gardens, Château de Mazan was built in 1720 and many of the original and later features are still apparent: the wonderful staircase, the 19th century tiled floors, the Franck brothers' Enlightenment creation, the impressive Marquis' library, the old Provencal casement windows, the Empire chimney...

The Hotel Château de Mazan offers 25 rooms and suites, a lounge-bar, gourmet restaurant, outdoor pool, terrace and gardens, a rotunda and various elegant events rooms. The dining room was the very room where the Marquis de Sade launched the first theatre festival of France, no less!

Suite: Spacious room with king-size bed (180 x 200) or beds, private lounge with sofa bed, large private terrace overlooking the garden, bathroom with bath and shower cabin.

Junior Suites: 6 large rooms with a private lounge in the room, king-size beds (180 x 200) or twin beds, some with sofa bed, garden view, bathroom with bath or Jacuzzi.

Private Garden Rooms: 6 rooms, with double or twin beds, all with private garden or terrace, bathroom with bath or Jacuzzi or shower.

Superior Room with steam-shower: 2 large rooms with twin or queen-size beds (160 x 200), garden view, bathroom with steam-shower cabin.

Superior Rooms: 2 rooms, with double or twin beds, garden view, bathroom with bath.
