		HI is a new up-market hotel concept that marks a new departure from traditional luxury standards. Just 200 meters from the Mediterranean beachfront and the Promenade Des Anglais, HI invites you to enjoy the latest in contemporary living. HI was designed and invented by Matali Crasset and consists of 9 concepts, 38 rooms, the Happy Bar and HI Food. Each of the 9 room concepts goes beyond decorative themes; these are areas to be lived in and experienced as alternatives to your everyday codified areas. The rooms become structures designed to allow micro-events in relation to each specific setting. The bar at the heart of the hotel is created around a suspended "nacelle", massive yet light, suggesting a modern alcove. It organizes the entire space, filtering light coming in from both the street and the atrium garden. At night the atmosphere turns festive with lighting effects and the "nacelle" comes to life with live DJs (sound design by F-Communications, Lauren Garnier´s electronic music label) and video screenings. The organic canteen is open 24 hrs a day and offers organic products, breakfasts, brunches, vegetarian plates and diet snacks. This is a restaurant where you eat healthy and simply prepared dishes served in a playful way. Enjoy your meal at the communal guest table or in the patio garden, a real cocoon surrounded by plants.

	There are relaxation areas and they all focus on a sense of well-being, they offer a Hammam made entirely from resin with two hot zones and two adjoining rooms, one for relaxing to music and the other for massage. There is also an atrium garden, private and spa terraces and on the hotel roof a solarium. There is a swimming pool on the roof which rises up vercically like a huge terracotta pot set on top of the building. Several options exist for comuning with the sun, on the terrace, around the tables, deck chairs or on giant waterbeds providing a beach front setting. Every month HI programs a feature film which is screened every Thursday at 7.30pm. in the bar. The program can be viewed on the hotels in-house channel which includes videos, documentaries, fiction, computer generated images and animated films. There is a library with novels, essays, books on art, architecture, design is various languages. There are automatic bars on different landings offering water, champagne, fruit juice or wine.
