Chateau de la Couronne is a rarity. A boutique Chambre d´Hote, peaceful and relaxing without being isolated, it sits in its own park on the edge of a typically French village, close to the lively city of Angouleme.

With backgrounds in fashion and television, the owners have produced a stylish, fashionable retreat where original high ceilings, exposed stone walls and huge fireplaces combine with an eclectic blend of ornate antiques, 60´s and 70´s design classics, commissioned pieces and original art. Obsession with detail is also evident in the attentive, discrete service: never austere, guests immediately feel like part of the growing Chateau de la Couronne family.

It has such appeal that it has been used in films and television, and is becoming a beloved oasis for discerning, diverse clientele, from film directors to families, all seeking countryside calm with urban facilities and style.

Five individually designed bedroom suites, all with a drinks chiller, LCD screen, and DVD player. Beds are luxurious, with crisp white cotton linen and some suites interconnect, providing space for a family and privacy for parents. Each has a huge bathroom, some with two baths, but all ridiculously luxurious places to relax.

There are three salons, a private cinema, a billiards room, and a heated 14.5 metre swimming pool. There is an honesty bar with a selection of wines, spirits, champagne, and soft drinks open 24 hrs. They serve a huge breakfast. The nearest restaurant is 500m away, with numerous others within 10 km. Larger parties can pre-arrange professionally catered meals.

The 1260 square foot refectoire is ideal for special events, celebrations, or conferences which may also be professionally catered if required. The entire chateau can also be hired.

UK satellite available in one of the three common areas. DVDs can be watched in the suites. Portable AC units are available upon request.
