18 km. from Mont-Saint-Michel, the Boucéel estate dates back to the 12th Century. The château was constructed in 1763 and is officially listed as a historic building. Built in the typical Saint-Malo style, this family residence has a curved pediment, or low gable that brings charm to the façade as well as to the two wings spread out below. Inside we find superb wood panelling, parquet floors, stylish furniture and family portraits tastefully coupled with the modern comfort of the refined bathrooms.
This is a historic site where a violent French Revolution battle took place. Chief Chouan du Boisguy, part of the 18th Century French counter-revolution, stayed here on December 5th, 1795. In fact, the owner's father participated in the French Resistance and you can find mementos here.
Stroll in the romantic English style park with its ponds, island, tall age-old trees, and a 12 th - 15 th Century chapel. The estate's farm buildings, park, meadows, plains, and woods inspire daydreaming and take you back in time. |
