Entering the Hotel Opera, built on Water like Venice, you will easily forget the stress of the fast paced city around you. In its beautiful Renaissance-Courtyard you can listen to the birds singing and the floating river "Eisbach" while having breakfast. The house was built as one of the finest stores in town for delicacy - exclusively catering to the royal Bavarian court. The small river "Eisbach", floating below the house, was used to keep fish and lobsters fresh, before they were served at royal banquets in the nearby palace.
Because of the war the house fell into bad condition and no one really wanted to buy it - only for Ernestine Lutz it was love on first sight !. It was the location and the exciting task to change this old house into one of the finest hotels in town. Because of the short distance to the National Opera and the design of the hotel the name "Hotel Opera" was a challenge. After many years since Ms. Lutz first entered the hotel, she finally owned it completely. With much enthusiasm and dedication the final renovation and reconstruction started.
The house was turned up-side-down and each room became its unique style - it is visible in every detail that the work was done with love and dedication. No wonder, that every piece of furniture, every fabric and design tells its own story. Over the years the many returned guest got used to the ongoing renovations and innovations and it was their first duty to expect the progress whenever they came back to the hotel. Nowadays the hotel Opera looks back to a strong relationship built in all those years with its faithful guests who appreciate this unique hotel as their "home away from home". |
