The small, family-operated Hotel Castel Fragsburg is located amidst unspoiled nature, vineyards and orchards above the town of Merano. The panoramic view of Merano and the Adige Valley from the wooden hotel terrace is unique and breath-taking at the same time. The historic walls, the love for detail, the excellent cuisine, and the high level of comfort, make Castel Fragsburg a private refuge. Castel Fragsburg is a small hunting castle that incorporates history, luxury, modernity and charm in the smallest boutique luxury hotel in the Dolomites.

All rooms feature a balcony and a conservatory with a splendid view of the mountains. Enjoy the solid pine panels and doors, antique furniture, bed heads with rural drawings, hand-painted lamp shades, linen curtains, relaxing sofas and plenty of daylight. The suites feature bedroom, living room, and balcony with a view of the entire valley. The Tower features the most incredible view to the valley and mountains.

Castel Fragsburg was built in 1620 by the noble Earl Mämmingen family and has been owned by the Ortner family since 1954. The hotel has been extended and renovated from time to time, without changing the outer facade. Within the framework of the most recent renovation in 2008, the hotel acquired more comfort and luxury while preserving the original style.

Dining: The first-class restaurant is located at the cliff just like an eyrie, high above Merano at 750m above sea level. Every day, chef Alois Haller chooses fresh products from the market. Cheese and dairy products, vegetables and fruits are delivered from local mountain farmers. They produce their own pasta, and bake fresh bread twice a day and their patisserie creates the finest pralines.

Cancellations:
If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and extra beds:
All children from 0 to 3 years are charged EUR 20.00 per night and person for cots (baby bed/crib).
All children from 4 to 7 years are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.
One child from 8 to 10 years is charged 60 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.
One older child or adult is charged 80 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.
Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.
Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.
Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.
