Some of the most appealing things that draw visitors to Mexico are: the ruins from the pre-Columbian empires, the colonial cities, the populated and fascinating capital, and of course, the beautiful beaches along the 10,000 kilometers of coast, including the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific Ocean. We reflected this wide variety of attractions in our selection of small luxury hotels in Mexico.
Most of the boutique hotels are located on the extraordinary peninsula of Yucatan. Here we find spectacular white sand beaches and turquoise water surrounded by coconut palms, key tourist centers such as Cancun or Isla Mujeres, stretches of rocky coast covered with corral reefs that are ideal for diving or |
snorkeling, extensive mangrove swamps, dense jungles and many traces of the Mayan civilization.
If we visit the states of Colima and Jalisco or, further north, Sonora, we can witness the glory of the Pacific coast with its beautiful and extensive beaches.
Puerto Vallarta, strategically located between the ocean and the spectacular Sierra Madre Mountains, is an excellent port base to explore this fascinating region. In the surrounding area of Mexico City, also known as Federal District, in the states of Puebla and Guanajuanto, there are numerous colonial pueblos with their beautiful baroque churches, where time flows at a slower pace than anywhere else on the planet. |
