The clubhouse is built 75 feet above the Pacific Ocean upon a majestic point with picturesque ocean and beach views at every turn. It features a full restaurant, serving delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, including tropical fruits and the freshest of seafood. In fact fish, crab, and lobster are caught just off the island daily. The views of the 'Three Monks', a set of three spectacular rock formations located a ½ mile from the resort in the Pacific Ocean, are fantastic. Additionally, humpback whales can often be seen right from the clubhouse, pool, and beach.
San Jose Island offers amazing wildlife and abundant, rich vegetation as a result of the profusion of fresh water from their many spring fed rivers. Due to the restriction of all hunting for many years there is a population of over 3,000 wild pigs, large quantities of deer, black and green iguanas, agoutis, parrot and giant pigeons. In fact, there are over 100 species of birds on the island and neighboring waters.
The beaches are used by many sea turtles for the purpose of nesting and laying their eggs. Their Sea Turtles Conservation Program releases over 100 sea turtles annually which are raised from birth. You can see these turtles from the pool area. Additionally, Panama is an active migration route for many species of fish and mammals.

Their Eco resort offers 3 types of beachfront cabanas: Standard suites, Junior suites, and two- room VIP cabanas.
The hotel's unique and spacious accommodations blend island charm and modern comfort all just steps from white sand beaches. Constructed with the finest Panama "caña blanca" each has its own balcony offering breathtaking panoramic views to the beach, sea, and to the triple canopy forest of the island allowing each cabana to catch gentle floral scented breezes.
Each cabana offers an array of amenities to make guest's stay as carefree and comfortable as possible, such as, full and king sized beds, air conditioning, lighting and ceiling fans, large private tiled bathrooms with hot showers and the freshest water. Additionally, the VIP cabanas have a mini refrigerator stocked with refreshments, coffee and tea making facilities.

From Albrook Airport you may travel by plane for 20 minutes to San Jose Island. Optionally, you may travel by boat (approx. 2 hours). Ask the hotel for further details, they can handle all airline reservations to and from Albrook Airport to San Jose Island and if desired by guests, can handle the local transfers, as well as the coordination of tours of Panama City, the Panama Canal, and Panama City hotel reservations (if needed).
Located within the Clubhouse is a full sports bar with a pool table, Direct TV, darts, table games. Poolside amenities include lounge chairs, dining tables, hammocks, sauna, weight room, restroom facilities and amazing view. The spring fed fresh water swimming pool is just steps from the clubhouse and overlooks the ocean and features a snack bar, sauna, gym, and restroom facilities. A separate kids room offers TV, video library.
Hacienda Del Mar's is one of Panama's best fishing lodges. They offer deep sea fishing and inshore fishing excitement. They offer ½ day and full day charters. There are 3 different boat options available, namely Bertram or Blackfin (30 or 32 ft.), Mako or Shamrock (24 ft.), and 22 ft. Eduardonos (center console). You may bring back your catch for preparation in their tropical restaurant or have the staff prepare it for you to take home if desired. Fishing Gear: They have everything from 20lb. To 80lb. gear so do not worry about packing your tackle. Fly and light tackle enthusiasts should bring their own.
ATV Tours: Some of the most exotic and primitive spots in all of the Pearl Islands exist on San Jose Island. Take this 4-hour tour on 50+ miles of roads and trails on all-terrain 4 wheel motorbikes. You will travel through 14,000 acres of pristine ecosystems with primary jungle crossing many mountains and rivers, and make stops along the way at different beaches where you may swim and have cold drinks and take pictures of the majestic points of the island. This is also a great way to see the wildlife (iguanas, wild pigs, deer...). Tours are offered twice a day.
Wildlife Safaris: Wildlife safari tours (day and night). Designed specially for observation of fauna in its natural habitat. You will see some or all of the following animals: white tail deer, white brocket deer (very rare species and the only place you can find it in Central America), wild boars, dwarf ant eater, boas, owls, among others.
Canoe and Kayak Tours: Venture into the rivers and marshes of San Jose Island using kayaks, gliding past a vast array of animal and bird life or if you prefer explore the nearby tropical reefs and coastline surrounding the resort. A great leisurely way to spend a few hours.
Scuba Diving Tours: San Jose offers great opportunities to see manta rays, turtles and game fish with excellent water visibility.
Jet Ski Tours: Discover interesting spots of the island by sightseeing and exploring the island on a jet ski.
Bird Watching :Over 100 observed species. San Jose Island's 14,000 acres of land maintains fresh, brackish, and saltwater ecosystems. With only 14 cabanas you are guaranteed maximum habitat to observe birds free from any disturbance. Species list available on request.
Mountain Biking: Mountain bike on the 50 miles of roads and explore the natural wonders of the island.

Booking and cancellation policy
A deposit equivalent to 25% of the total amount of your reservation is required for confirmation.
Cancellations: made Forty Eight (48) hours prior to departure, the same day of your departure or hours earlier due to missing flights, being late to catch airplane, or any other delay caused by the passenger, HACIENDA DEL MAR, will charge 100% of the total amount of reserved services.
Made Seventy Two (72) hours prior to departure, HACIENDA DEL MAR, will charge 75% of the total amount of reserved services.
Made a Two weeks (14) days prior to departure or once the service voucher has been issued, HACIENDA DEL MAR, will charge the 50% deposit made originally by the traveler.
Once your payment of the 25% deposit has enter our system, the company will be in its right to keep the total amount of the deposit if a cancellation occurs, unless a specific agreement has been made prior to the arrival of the travelers.
If you are traveling during our holydays deposit will charge depending on the date of your cancellation. During Christmas and New Years, the hotel requires a minimum of four nights to reserve a room.
