Description: Fundu Lagoon

Fundu is on Pemba Island, the sister island to Zanzibar lying across the Pemba Channel to the north. It is on a remote and beautiful beach on the south western side of the island and is only accessible by boat.

Fundu Lagoon is the epitome of a "bare foot paradise" with a distinct Robinson Crusoe air. It has been designed for couples and groups of friends looking to escape the usual holiday crowds. Divers and watersports lovers who are looking for a perfect combination of quality activities and luxury, are also catered to. Whatever you're looking for, Fundu Lagoon provides a friendly, relaxed haven of peace and outstanding natural beauty.

There are eighteen rooms, consisting of designer tents, set under makuti (thatch) roofs on wooden decks and each with a view to the sea.
All rooms have beautiful ocean views across the bay and can have one double bed or 2 single beds. The rooms are equipped with mosquito nets, ceiling and standing fans, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. Each has an ensuite bathroom with fresh hot water shower, toilet and basin. The rooms are connected to the main buildings by wooden walkways or paths through indigenous forest.

8 Hillside Rooms: Maximum occupancy is 2 people.

4 Beachfront Rooms: Maximum occupancy is 2 people.

2 Standard Suites: Maximum occupancy is 2 people. Private plunge pools and private chill out areas. One Standard Suite is on the hillside and the other on the beach.

4 Superior Suites on the Beach:Maximum occupancy is 3 people with an extra rollaway bed. Private plunge pools and private chill out areas.

Only the Standard Suites and Superior Suites have room service.

Dining: Enjoy the full English breakfast with daily choice of dishes for lunch, afternoon tea and 3 course dinner including Swahili Night and Beach Barbeque Night on set evenings. Relax with the in-house selection of wine, spirits, cocktails, beers, bottled water, soft drinks, juices, tea & coffee.

Activities: Try unguided mangrove canoe safaris and a Dhow sunset cruise, shore based snorkeling, windsurfing, Kayaking, traditional hair and henna on Swahili Night and village treks. Diving and other motorized water sports are available at an extra charge. They have their own PADI Dive Center.

Services & Facilities: staff will take luggage to your room and there is always someone on call. The bedrooms do not have air conditioning, though the Spa does. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and public areas. The rooms do not have a TV or WiFi. There is a TV in the Game Room and Internet is available only at the reception area.

Transportation: Rates do not include road / speedboat transfers from/to Chake Chake Airport. Fundu lagoon is only accessible by boat.

Children: Fundu Lagoon is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

HIGH SEASON: 01 July to 31 October 2012; 15 December 2012 to 28 February 2013.
Holiday: Supplement: US$125 per person per night from 24 December 2012 to 05 January 2013 inclusive.
Holiday Deposit: 50% non-refundable deposit required on confirmation of reservations between 18 December and 10 January.

Booking and cancellation policy

Rates are per person, per night, based on double occupancy. For single occupancy, there is an additional supplement.

Rates include laundry service.

Rates do not include road / speedboat transfers from/to Chake Chake Airport - US$45 per person each way.
Rates do not include diving and other motorised water sports.

DEPOSIT REQUIRED:
On confirmation of a new booking a 10% non-refundable deposit is required.
Full payment is required 30 days prior to arrival. 50% non-refundable deposit required on confirmation of reservations between 18 December and 10 January 6.0% surcharge will be applied to payments by Credit or Debit Card and Travellers Cheques

CANCELLATION POLICY:
For any cancellations, the deposit is not returned.
If cancelled more than 60 days prior to check-in date, only the deposit is lost.
If cancelled between 59 and 40 days prior to check-in date, 30% of the entire stay is charged.
If cancelled between 39 and 15 days prior to check-in date, 50% of the entire stay is charged.
If cancelled between 14 and 0 days prior to check-in date, 100% of the entire stay is charged.
