Hix Island House is not a typical boutique hotel. There are no phones, television, or typical room and turn-down service. Hix Island House consists of 13 innovative self-contained spacious loft apartments distributed throughout 4 designer buildings located in a 13-acre natural refuge of native trees, tall grasses, birds and butterflies where you'll be at one with nature and savor the peaceful bliss of privacy, silence, and tranquility.

Ecology is important at Hix Island House. Designed to harmonize with the environment and nature, solar panels augment the electricity and hot water. Water is collected and your shower and basins flow to guavas, bananas, papayas and lemons; giving back to Nature.

At Hix Island House the outdoors becomes indoors. The innovative self-contained spacious lofts highlight matchless views of the Caribbean and palm-lined beaches minutes away; open-air private terraces and outdoor showers bathe in the scent of trade winds and night- blooming jasmine under star-studded skies.

13 Loft Apartments include: Neeva Gayle luxurious cotton day/night shirts, Frette linens, private patios, full kitchen stocked with delicious home-made bread, robust whole local coffee beans with grinder and French press, selection of teas, cereal, local fruits, juice and eggs. Most units also include a heavenly outdoor shower.

Dining: This is not your regular hotel. There is no restaurant but your well-appointed kitchen is replenished daily with a generous selection of on-site gourmet provisions such as Hix Island House's signature homemade bread (makes great French toast!), Yaucono whole-bean Puerto Rican coffee, local fruits and juices, farm-fresh eggs, a selection of Stash Teas, jellies and jams, milk, butter, cereal and more.

Activities: Yoga, massage, saltwater fly fishing, deep sea/offshore fishing, sailing, kayaking, hiking, biking, bioluminescent bay tours, and horseback riding can be arranged by the managers. Complete Concierge Services including reservations for Biobay excursions, restaurants, sailing trips, horseback riding, mountain biking and more.
