Rawlins Plantation, one of the smallest and finest of St.Kitts hotels and resorts, has the atmosphere of an English country house, but with a traditional West Indian ease and informality that is perfect for relaxation. It is an intimate and romantic Caribbean Inn; A home rather than a hotel. The owners and staff look forward to welcoming those looking for natural beauty, good food and tranquility in the unspoiled Caribbean.

The hotel was built from the ruins of a 17th Century sugar cane plantation, perched at 350 feet above sea level on the slopes of Mount Liamuiga at the "quiet" Northern end of St. Kitts, with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and neighbouring French and Dutch islands.

Set in 12 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and surrounded by fields of lush green sugar there is a wonderful feeling of space and serenity. Rawlins appeals to the sophisticated traveller seeking the real Caribbean getaway -peace, seclusion, simple elegance, historical ambience, lovely gardens and good food.

Guest rooms are in charming, distinctive cottages (most of them created from the old plantation out-buildings - for example, the honeymoon suite is an enchantingly converted windmill) scattered throughout the beautiful and colorful gardens that are rich with an abundance of exotic and tropical flowers.
Individually and attractively decorated with white or stone walls, wooden floors, bright cotton fabrics and occasional antiques.

Facilities include toiletries, hair-drier, bath with shower, ceiling fans and verandah, but in keeping with an old sugar plantation exclude mini-bars, telephone, television and air-conditioning. Serene Caribbean accommodation at its best.

How to get here:
St. Kitts has an airport with more direct flights than even Antigua.
Rawlins is on the quiet, northern end of the island perched on the foothills of Mount Liamuiga.
From Basseterre or the airport take the coast road and travel west for about 16miles (25mins).
After Dieppe Bay look for the Rawlins sign on your left and follow the track for 1mile.
