Many great civilizations have left their mark on this fascinating country: from the Assyrians and the Hittites, to the Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines, and the Ottomans.
In addition to abundance of historic monuments and archeological sites, the natural landscape is especially beautiful and striking for its contrasts: there are extensive olive groves, the fairy-tale landscape of Cappadocia, the gushing rivers of the Euphrates and the Tigris, the terraced sparkling white natural pools of Pamukkale, the Kackar Mountains -with glaciated valleys and white water rafting, as well as the coasts of the Black Sea, the Mediterranean, and the Aegean Sea with their stunning natural ports. |
The small luxury hotels we selected in Turkey are in Istanbul, Cappadocia, and on the coast of the Aegean Sea. In Istanbul, the boutique hotels are concentrated on both sides of the Bosphorus, between Europe and Asia. Urgup is the hub of Cappadocia and from here we can make various excursions and visit the unusual landscapes resulting from a tremendous volcanic eruption in the past.
The attractive coast of the Aegean is lined with countless coves and little pine covered cliffs. In addition, the coast is splashed with interesting ruins going back to the Romans and Byzantines. Bodrum, Fethiye and Kalkan are picturesque coastal towns in which we have selected some small luxury hotels. |
