Westover Hall is a grade II listed building built by the famous Victorian architect Arnold Mitchell in 1897, it features a magnificent series of stained glass windows, extensive oak panelling and ceilings decorated in high relief.
Originally designed as a luxurious marine residence, today it is family owned and run, thus maintaining the tradition of a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
Westover Hall occupies an unrivalled position on the South Coast of England enjoying uninterrupted views of Christchurch Bay, the Isle of Wight and the 'Needles' rocks and is just a few minutes' walk from the charming Saxon village of Milford-on-Sea, yet only 200 yards from a peaceful beach.
Take to the bar or award-winning restaurant and gaze out to sea. The more active can stroll outside and walk up the beach to Hurst Castle. Alternatively, sink into a sofa on the sunny balcony for great views of the Needles, or listen to the sea from the hotel's own beach hut.
The award-winning restaurant has wonderful views of their private garden, Christchurch Bay and the 'Needles' rocks. The menu changes daily and uses only the finest locally sourced, quality ingredients; particularly wild mushrooms, fish and game. Light lunches, morning coffee and afternoon tea are served in the lounge bar which also overlooks the sea. You can enjoy eating outside on the sun terrace, within private grounds which run towards the beach or you may choose to relax in the peace and calm of the comfortable enclosed balcony room with panoramic sea views.
Private parties, conferences and special events can all be arranged at Westover Hall, from intimate dinner parties in a private dining room, to exclusive use of the entire hotel.
The hotel also houses a collection of contemporary art with changing exhibition space in the main hall, minstrells gallery and lounge. The collection includes work from joint-proprietor Stewart Mechem, along with guest artists and a strong collection of black and white photography. |
