Pool House is a thoroughly unique refuge on the seashore of Loch Ewe consistently listed amongst the most romantic retreats in the United Kingdom. On arrival you will discover a discreet haven with open log fires that create a homely ambience. This time capsule of the Victorian era is filled with antiques, paintings, porcelain and curiosities.

The exclusive and individually designed suites promote an atmosphere of luxury, comfort and tranquillity and benefit from twice-daily maid service.

They provide the opportunity to discover a region called "the last great wilderness of Europe". There are fabulous gardens, magnificent scenery, windswept beaches, glacial gorges, plunging waterfalls and maritime excursions where you might see Minke whale or porpoise.

The exclusive and individually designed suites promote an atmosphere of luxury, comfort and tranquillity. Impressively furnished with fine antiques, paintings and porcelain, each suite boasts a beautifully designed bedroom, separate large sitting room and a fine period style bathroom. The period style bathrooms are furnished to a high standard, with fluffy towels, bathrobes and luxury toiletries.

Scharnhorst: The bedroom has a six-foot king-size bed, which can be converted to a twin. The large period bathroom has superb river and mountain views and a double-ended clawfoot bath with overhead shower. The wash basin, toilet and bidet are also in period style. The sitting room benefits from both river and sea views and is furnished with French marquetry furniture, embellished with gilt and marble.

Campania: The bedroom has a queen-size antique brass and iron four-poster bed. The magnificent bathroom has an extraordinary canopied bath and shower from the 1870's, which stands over eight feet high and is hand-painted in rich shades of green and yellow. The wash basin, toilet and bidet are in a complimentary Victorian style. The spectacular spacious sitting room has a lovely bay window, many original period features and elaborate antique furnishings. All rooms in the master suite have wonderful sea views.

Bramble: Spacious single bedroom with an equally large bathroom, located at rear of the building. The centrepiece is the extraordinary, antique, carved-oak bedstead, (standard double size for maximum comfort) with panels dating from the Jacobean period. Located a few steps across the hall is the charming and beautifully furnished sitting room overlooking the bay.

Diadem: The bedroom features a seven-foot square cabin style four-poster in mahogany. Just off the bedroom is a dressing area with matching cabin style wardrobes. The bathroom features a rare glass canopied bath and shower from 1912 (the year of her fateful maiden voyage) together with Edwardian style toilet, bidet and wash basin. The elegant sitting room with lovely bay window overlooking the sea.

Achates: This suite of rooms is decorated in an elegant French Empire style paying tribute to the "auld alliance". The décor is enhanced by lovely antiques and striking soft furnishings. The bedroom has a queen-size (5 foot) Victorian brass bed looking out to sea. The large period bathroom has superb river and mountain views, features a traditional plunger bath, overhead shower, toilet, bidet and "his and hers" basins. The sitting room has views of the sea and river and has an antique French canopied day bed, which could accommodate a third person if required.
