The Adirondack Great Camps. Painstakingly constructed on 10 acres of peninsula stretching into Upper Saranac Lake, The Point was originally Camp Wonundra, the home of William Avery Rockefeller. There, in the heart of the vast Adirondack wilderness, he lived quietly and entertained in the gracious style of The Great Camp era. The Point combines that tradition of honoring guests with its unique combination of warm hospitality, grace and rustic elegance.

11 distinctive guest quarters are spread among 4 buildings.
Each room manages to be both splendid and unpretentious, has a broad lake view, custom-made beds, and spacious private bath. All contain an eclectic mixture of antiques and Adirondack furniture, and all have huge fireplaces of chiseled stone.

Clothing: Jackets and ties are customary for all evenings, and black tie is suggested, but not required, on Wednesday and Saturday Evenings. Bring casual sports clothes, sturdy boots for walking, sneakers for the boats and warm gloves, hats and ski jackets for the winter. Whatever the season, bring sweaters as the night air can be crisp. Robes, slippers, hair dryers and irons are available in every room.
Children: under 18 are not suitable guests due to the dinner party atmosphere each evening. Exceptions are made when one group books the entire facility for a private party. Children over 14 years of age are welcome at the sister property, The Lake Placid Lodge.
SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS: Many guests have found The Point a wonderful place to celebrate special times with family and friends. If you let them know ahead of time, they'll bake something for the occasion or order favourite flowers. There are many opportunities to reserve the entire property. Especially in the winter.
MASSAGE SERVICES: They can arrange an in-room massage with experienced local massage therapists. Please contact office staff and they will be happy to check availability. Massages are 125.00 per hour per person. The massage therapists require 24 hours notice of cancellation.

Reservations are required, as they do not accept drop-ins. To make a reservation, please telephone. They will hold the space requested for 24hrs, by which time they must receive a deposit of $500 per day per room, or the reservation will have to be voided to make room for others.
Deposit:
Upon receipt of your deposit, they will confirm your reservation by mailing you a confirmation letter and bill for the balance, which is due 60 days prior to your arrival. The Balance due will be automatically applied to the credit card they have on file. Should you wish to change that credit card please contact their office prior to the balance due date. If the balance has not been received by that date, the reservation will be cancelled, and the deposit will be non-refundable. In the event that your reservation is made within the 60 days, the reservation must be paid in full and is then non-refundable.
Cancellations: because of their small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last-minute cancellation leaves us little chance of filling the reserved space due to our remote location. For these reasons, we uphold a strict cancellation policy.
Your funds, less $200 per room booked, will be happily refunded if cancellation is made AT LEAST 60 DAYS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. After that, no refund is possible regardless of the reason for non-arrival or early departure, unless we are able to re-book the space. However, you are welcome to send someone else in your place.
