Description: EnniscoeHidden in charming woods by the shores of Lough Conn, Enniscoe House is a unique historic guest house, set in what has been called the Last Great House of North Mayo, built in the late 18th century on the site of a much older structure. Located at the end of a winding avenue and surrounded by extensive parkland, this delightful property offers boutique-style bed and breakfast accommodation in a friendly, welcoming historic setting.
Largely unchanged since the 19th century, Enniscoe House is the ideal spot for relaxing escapes in the heart of the County Mayo countryside. On site activities include fishing and boating on the lake, or just strolling in the magnificent gardens. There are a number of excellent golf courses in the region, and hikers and mountain bikers will find countless fabulous routes to tackle in the Nephin Beg Range and around the lake. Another unique feature is The Mayo North Family Heritage Centre Ireland, with a family history research centre, a museum, and much more.
With just six fine bedrooms, each with its own unique history, relaxing, intimate stays are a given at Enniscoe House. A feature of the country house experience is its fine cuisine, and Susan and DJ Kellett, the house's owners, prepare a hearty breakfast every morning, along with delicious evening meals, sourced from the richly stocked organic market garden in the grounds of the house, and the finest fresh, locally farmed regional produce.
