After some years of abandonment during the communist era, the castle was reacquired by the family in 2000 and restored to its former glory. This charming property now offers luxurious boutique accommodation in a magnificent rural setting.Less than 15 kilometres from the centre of the fascinating historic city of Wismar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hotel Schloss Gamehl is ideally placed for exploring this beautiful area of Western Pomerania and the Hanseatic coast. Aside from its many historic and cultural attractions, the region offers countless outdoor activities, including horse riding, water sports, golf, hiking and cycling on the Hanseatic Bicycle Trail. The hotel can arrange bicycle hire, and packed lunches are available on request. Hotel Schloss Gamehl has just 19 luxurious rooms, all elegantly appointed and spacious.
