Description: Château de NieuilEnjoying a fabulous location in the heart of the Charente countryside, Château de Nieuil is a magnificently restored and maintained 16th century château, reputedly a favourite hunting lodge of Francois I. First opened as a hotel in 1937 by the present owners' grandparents, this charming boutique property offers unique accommodation and fine cuisine in a quiet rural location.
Perfectly located for exploring this beautiful region, Château de Nieuil is within easy reach of many of Charente's most important landmarks and attractions, including Angoulême, with its famous old town and cathedral, and Champagne-Vigny. Standing in huge grounds, with a charming ornamental garden, the château also has a large outdoor pool.
The chateau is also home to a fine restaurant, "La Grange Aux Oies", located opposite the main building in the historic stables. The restaurant offers seasonal dishes based on the cuisine of the region, fruit and vegetables from the kitchen garden and the finest local produce. La Grange also offers fully equipped meeting rooms for successful seminars and presentations, and in winter, guests can enjoy cosy meals by the fireside.

Located on the first floor, the Classic Rooms face the French garden and are are furnished with a large double bed and an en-suite bathroom with bath. Nineteeth century furniture. Double bed.
These spacious and light-filled rooms are situated on teh first floor and face the courtyard. Each room is decorated in a different style and period. They feature an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and a sepeart shower. One king-size double bed or twin beds. Room size 35 sq m.
Large Superior Double Room:
Located on the first floor, these large Superior rooms are spacious and luminous, and face the ornamental garden. Each room is individually decorated. One king-size bed. Room size 45 sq m.
The Junior Suites consist of a double room communicating with a living room, a king-size bed or twin beds, and views over the courtyard. En-suite bathroom with bath. 19th century period decoration.
These spacious suites have views over teh ornamental garde, and are located on the ground floor. Louis XV ? Louis XVI décor. It has a living room that communicates with a bedroom with a king-size double bed, a large en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Room size 100 sq m.
14th Century Tower:
An apartment on three levels, located in a 14th century tower, twenty metres from the main Château building. Louis XIII period décor. There is a living room on the ground floor with a shower cabinet, a large double room with a king-size bed or twin beds on the first floor, and a bathroom on the second floor.
All rooms and suites feature: climate control; flat-screen TV with satellite channels; mini-bar and safe. Fully equipped en-suite bathrooms.
