Description: Lyngen LodgeLocated high above the Arctic circle on the shores of Lyngen fjord, Lyngen Lodge is a purpose-built small hotel offering unique accommodation and fabulous outdoor activities in a privileged natural setting.
The raison d'être of Lyngen Lodge is outdoor activities in all seasons. In winter, ski-touring holidays are organised, from summit to sea, with expert guides and the unique experience of reaching the point of departure on the lodge's launch, Spirit of Lyngen, and skiing on untracked snow high above the fjords. In summer and autumn, the lodge also offers a fabulous range of activities, including river boat tours, sea-safari, mountain hiking and trekking, and a huge range of fjord water-sports, among many others. Being well above the Arctic circle, guests can of course experience the midnight sun and northern lights in summer months.
Lyngen Lodge features environmentally friendly traditional Norwegian "lafting" pine timber log construction. Geothermal heating provides warmth while a thick grass roof provides insulation. Panoramic windows in the public areas of the lodge provide fabulous views of the fjord and the Lyngen Alps, while the open stone fireplace creates a relaxed, peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. The lodge's restaurant features delicious menus based on the finest local produce and regional cuisine.
