Standing on the shores of a beautiful Hebridean loch, Amhuinnsuidhe Castle is a perfect spot for a unique getaway or outdoor holiday. Just metres away from a salmon jump, the castle is geared to fishing and field sports, and according to the season, guests can enjoy salmon and sea trout fishing under the expert guidance of the castle's resident ghillies. Deer stalking is also available. Other outdoor activities include hiking and mountain biking, sea kayaking and golf on two excellent courses. The island of Harris has some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere, with Huishinish and Luskentyre being especially noteworthy. In spring and summer the landscape is a festival of colours, and is particularly suitable for wildlife photography.
With just twelve individually decorated and furnished rooms, including four double suites, two twin suites and three single rooms, intimate, relaxing stays are guaranteed at Amhuinnsuidhe Castle. Table d'hôtes style dining is offered in the evenings around the huge banqueting table, and guests can also enjoy snooker in the billiards room, or simply relax in the television room, the drawing room or the library. Amhuinnsuidhe Castle has twelve individually designed bedrooms, many of which have original features, excellent views and provide a luxurious base for guests' stays. This magnificent suite features a four poster bed. The room has been designed and decorated in keeping with the original period features. Other touches include carefully selected antiques and an en-suite marble bathroom. There are excellent sea views from both the bedroom and the bathroom.
This sumptuous suite on the third floor of the Castle has recently been re-designed. Using colours that blend seamlessly with those of the surrounding moorland, the room has been beautifully furnished. There are excellent sea views from two aspects as well as views of the salmon leap from the new, luxury en-suite shower and bathroom. This suite comes with a choice of king-size double or twin beds on request.
A luxuriously appointed suite which features magnificent views to the front and side of the Castle. This suite features a super-king sized bed, a day bed, a sitting area and a walk-in dressing area. The en-suite facilities consist of a huge bathroom which has been finished in marble. There is also a separate shower room. This spacious suite is ideal for private, comfortable celebratory occasions.
