Hotel Casa Escobar Jerez, Extremadura
|Calle Alfacar, 15, 10500, Valencia de Alcántara, Cáceres, Extremadura, SPAIN.|
Description: Hotel Casa Escobar JerezThis small palace, located in a privileged natural spot, was built in the 16th Century, just when the New World was discovered, where many officers from the area achieved wealth and glory. The former owners of this palace, the noble Escobar-Jerez lineages were among them.
In its four centuries of history, the palace has been: the home of the Town Governor, customs house, pharmacy, Hospital for the cavalry army, school during the Spanish Civil War, and home of the Town Mayor and his inheritors from whom it was bought in 1998.
Five years of work were needed to renovate this tiny historical jewel. The key to turning this palace into a hotel full of personality and charm was redistributing the space while respecting the architecture and original elements of the building.
Now turned into a hotel, you can enjoy the palace's sitting rooms, provided with the latest technologies for the most demanding events, or the warmth of its fireplaces, the freshness of its noble patio, or, if you choose, enjoy the heated pool with Jacuzzi, hollowed out of granite stone, and the Turkish bath.
