This small palace, located in a privileged natural spot, was built in the 16th Century, just when the New World was discovered, where many officers from the area achieved wealth and glory. The former owners of this palace, the noble Escobar-Jerez lineages were among them.

In its four centuries of history, the palace has been: the home of the Town Governor, customs house, pharmacy, Hospital for the cavalry army, school during the Spanish Civil War, and home of the Town Mayor and his inheritors from whom it was bought in 1998.

Five years of work were needed to renovate this tiny historical jewel. The key to turning this palace into a hotel full of personality and charm was redistributing the space while respecting the architecture and original elements of the building.

Now turned into a hotel, you can enjoy the palace's sitting rooms, provided with the latest technologies for the most demanding events, or the warmth of its fireplaces, the freshness of its noble patio, or, if you choose, enjoy the heated pool with Jacuzzi, hollowed out of granite stone, and the Turkish bath.

It is close to Cáceres, Mérida and Évora, Unesco World Heritage sites. Among the rich gastronomy of this area, Iberian pork stands out in particular, together with select goat, mutton and beef meats.

Activities: The natural surroundings invite hiking, hunting and fishing. You will find forests of ancient cork, oak, and chestnut, rich in natural beauty, fauna and birds.
In the Spanish-Portuguese border, and less than five minutes distance, you can play golf on the golf course, Ammaia, or enjoy the cosy Portuguese villages like Marvao or Castelo de Vide.
Golf: Guests can make use of the green fees that the hotel has contracted with the 18-hole golf course, Ammaia in Marvao.
Spa: The hotel has a small spa centre with a steam bath and a heated Jacuzzi swimming pool. Guests can enjoy it privately by reserving in advanced.
