Small Boutique hotels in Mykonos

Mykonos is unashamedly a holiday island. There are some cultural sights, the trademark windmills that overlook the port, the Byzantine Church of Panagia Paraportiani, but ultimately this vibrant Cycladic island encourages sunbathing by day and dining or dancing by night.

The main town, officially Mykonos but also known as Chora, is a pretty place of white-washed houses and blue-domed churches with winding streets, designer boutiques and chic restaurants and bars. Most of the small luxury hotels are found in or around Chora with sunset views over the Aegean Sea and the nearby Delos Island, famed birthplace of Apollo.

The further from Chora, the quieter the boutique hotels on Mykonos and the beaches of Elia and Kalo Livadi offer particularly peaceful spots. The see-and-be-seen beaches of Paradise and Super Paradise are found on the south of the island.

Getting Around:
Although buses and taxis are available, the best way to venture beyond the predominantly pedestrianized main town is to hire a moped, car, or boat. Smart yachts and sleek motorboats provide a stylish way to explore Mykonos from the sea, but for a more authentic experience step into a caique, a traditional Mykonos fishing boat found in the port of Platis Yialos.
