Puerto Vallarta, strategically located between the ocean and the spectacular Sierra Madre Mountains, is an excellent port base to explore this fascinating region. In the surrounding area of Mexico City, also known as Federal District, in the states of Puebla and Guanajuanto, there are numerous colonial pueblos with their beautiful baroque churches, where time flows at a slower pace than anywhere else on the planet.
