Buenos Aires is a city of extremes, perhaps a bit overwhelming at first glance. Enormous avenues of constant traffic as far as the eye can see, from north to south and east to west. The main streets, Avenida de Mayo, 9 de Julio, and Belgrano form a rectangle splashed with plazas which likewise standout for their large dimensions.
But curiously, this big busy city has just as many small and fascinating nooks and crannies that ooze nostalgia and the personal touch. It is this contrast that epitomizes the magic of Buenos Aires.
The small boutique hotels that we selected can be found dotted throughout the city from San Telmo to the Plaza de Mayo. |
There are many small luxury hotels in the neighborhood of Palermo - more specifically in the area known as Palermo Soho, an uninhibited bohemian atmosphere with a plethora of cultural centers, fascinating book shops, quirky art studios, fashionable clothing stores, intriguing restaurants, and cozy bars.
The contrast between old and new here is surprising and our selection of small boutique hotels reflects this contrast. One thing you won?t want to miss is the weekly street fair. Every weekend the street known as Pasaje Darwin overflows with street artists and a curious fair of handicrafts and visual arts. |
