Tokyo, the capital of Japan, is one of the largest and most influential cities in the world. Its urban landscape is a mosaic where futuristic skyscrapers, bright digital screens, and high-speed trains coexist with ancient temples and carefully designed gardens. Located in the Kantō region on the island of Honshū, its coastal location and temperate climate allow visitors to enjoy the seasons, including cherry blossom (sakura) spring, when the cherry trees bloom. One of the most famous districts is Shibuya, known for its enormous pedestrian crossing in front of the station, one of the busiest intersections on the planet. This area represents Tokyo’s modern and dynamic side. Other districts, such as Asakusa, reflect the traditional essence of the |
city. Temples and shrines allow visitors to explore Tokyo’s cultural and spiritual dimension. Sensō-ji in Asakusa, the oldest temple in the city, and the Meiji Shrine in Shibuya, surrounded by a large forest, showcase Shinto traditions and Japanese architecture. Observation points like the Tokyo Tower or the Tokyo Skytree offer views of the city’s modern planning and vast urban expanse. In its streets, visitors can find street food stalls as well as Michelin-starred restaurants. Iconic dishes include pho, sushi, ramen, tempura, and okonomiyaki. Markets like Toyosu stand out for the freshness of their products and the precision in their preparation, reflecting Tokyo’s culinary culture. |
