Description: Hotel Hacienda de Abajo

The Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, located in the heart of Tazacorte on the island of La Palma, is a former 17th-century sugar mill transformed into a luxury accommodation that retains all its historic essence. Its original architecture has been carefully restored, respecting elements such as the stone ashlars, old tiled roofs, and tea woodwork. The complex consists of four buildings surrounding an interior garden. Inside, it houses more than 1,300 pieces of art, from oriental porcelain from the Tang, Ming, and Qing Chinese dynasties to Flemish tapestries, sculptures, and European religious paintings.

The Hotel Hacienda de Abajo features a heated saline pool, a jacuzzi, a sauna, and a hydrotherapy area. The former orchard has been transformed into a lush botanical garden with exotic and native species. The former chapel has been converted into a meeting room, maintaining its sacred atmosphere.

The rooms at Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, decorated with original pieces from different eras, feature private balconies or terraces, and some offer direct access to the garden. The master suite, located in the original house, has a separate living room and bedroom with 17th-century furniture. All rooms are equipped with modern amenities without sacrificing the historic character of the property.

The El Sitio restaurant, awarded a Repsol Sun, offers signature cuisine focused on local produce, with a menu that changes seasonally and a privileged setting overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The hacienda's turret provides an ideal viewing point for enjoying the sunsets with a drink in hand.

Just minutes from Hotel Hacienda de Abajo is Tazacorte Beach, ideal for relaxing or snorkeling and kayaking. And protected natural areas such as the Caldera de Taburiente National Park, the Volcano Route, the Linden Forest, and the Roque de los Muchachos, a prime location for astronomical observation, are located near the hotel.
