The floor is laid with parquet, the same used in the Quirinale where Italy's president resides, and the walls are adorned with several historic paintings of the family's ancestors. The Veranda offers a great place to have a quiet read or simply relax. It has blue striped drapes that run along the full length of the room offering a vibrant and colourful atmosphere. The Queen Hortense Bonaparte Suite: a majestic suite offering an occasion to stay in the former residence of Hortense Eugénie Cécile Bonaparte, Queen consort of Holland, and wife to Napoleon's brother Louis Bonaparte. During her residence here, between 1823 to 1830, Hortense decorated the ceilings and walls in the spirit of her mother Josephine's home, the famous Château de Malmaison, in Paris. When staying in this suite in the centre of Rome, whether on business or for leisure, guests will be surrounded by most of the original works she commissioned and that continue to adorn many of the rooms of this elegant 400 sq m space. It all begins in the Frescoes Room which is the grand entrance of the ur suite. On the walls, just below the antique paneled ceiling, there is an interpretation of the Labours of Hercules, while the floor features black and white marble tiles similar to those used in Château Malmaison. The magnificent Dining Room of the Ruspoli Regiment is where breakfast will be served every morning. Guests can also organize a special occasion in this magnificent room . Above the dining table is an 18th century Chandelier of Murano with Bohemia crystals. Along the main wall hangs a large painting of the Ruspoli Regiment, an infantry regiment created in 1708 which at the time was 7000 strong and in the service of the Holy See. Frescos of the family coat of arms also adorn the ceiling. Guests can lounge in the Moors of Venice Room and enjoy a quiet drink from the bar. The ceiling is decorated with frescos of flowers and the twin lamps each have a base of a Moor from Venice. The Pink Room of Queen Hortense is an elegant living room area. The room has frescoes reminiscent of her mother's French residence; an 18th century Murano Chandelier as well as a magnificent mirror framed in guilded wood standing above the fireplace. In the Green Room guests can enjoy satellite TV, play cards on the game table or simply use the writing desk. This multifunctional room has a fireplace and was also decorated by Hortense in the spirit of Chateau de Malmaison. The Grand Bedroom of the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte is where guests will sleep as once did this important historic figure. Above the king-size canopy bed is a magnificent fresco with an 18th century painting, again decorated by Hortense when she lived here with her son. Adjacent to the bedroom is the travertine lined bathroom which has a separate shower and bathtub as well as a bidet and basin.
