Small Boutique hotels in PUNTA DEL ESTE

In the South of Uruguay, Punta del Este sits on a peninsula between the Río de la Plata and the Atlantic Ocean. A famous holiday destination in South America, at the beginning of the 20th century it had already become a seaside resort like the great European centres of the time.

Along with the lively nightlife of the center and the beauty of its beaches during the day, the peaceful residential areas of the city reflect the power of its summer visitors. The port is another of its attractions with notable cruise activity. One of its icons is the modern sculpture Mano de Punta del Este made by the artist Mario Irarrázabal on the Brava beach.

Twenty minutes north of Punta del Este, is José Ignacio, another spa town valued for its tranquility and long fine sandy beaches lapped by the waters of the Pacific. Set between two lagoons, that of Garzón and that of José Ignacio, it is an ideal place to try its tasty gastronomy with fish and seafood fresh from the sea. The sunsets on Mansa beach, with the fishing boats at anchor, are heavenly.

The lighthouses of both towns, built at the end of the 19th century, are a point of reference for walks along the sea. Boutique hotels with a lot of charm promote the relaxed and active life on this stretch of the Uruguayan coast.
