Salvador Dali, a Surrealist Genius: Emporda is considered the golden triangle of Dali with three of his most important enclaves: Teatro Museu Dalí Figueras (museum), Casa Museu Castell Gala Púbol (the castle Dali gave to Gala) and Casa Museu Salvador Dali Cadaqués (the house where Dali lived with Gala).

Historic Areas: The medieval period was of enormous importance in the Girona area, with history forged by the great monasteries and the small independent earldoms, castles, Romanesque and Gothic churches. La Bisbal boasts a castle in the centre of the town, porticoed houses, a beautiful main square and an old Jewish quarter. Together with the three surrounding villages of Monells, Cruïlles and Corçà, this is an attractive route. Monells and Cruïlles are both only two km away from La Bisbal. The porticoed square is the main point of interest in Monells. However, by far the most interesting feature of the three villages is the 11th-12th-century Cruïlles; Madremanya and Sant Martí Vell, which houses a curious late Gothic spire, all of which are on the same road. You will also find Peratallada, a typically medieval fortified village; and Ullastret, well known for the nearby Iberian settlement. Palau-sator, Pals and Sant Feliu de Boada, are three other villages that stand out for their medieval patrimony.
