Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare made this a city of great romance. Without a doubt it is a place to fall in love: the Bra Square with its palaces, portals and the Roman amphitheater, known as the Verona Arena.
In the picturesque square of delle Erbe, located in what was the Roman forum, the beauty of centuries of history is combined. The Maffei Palace from the XI century has late Baroque ornamentation. The Tower of the Lamberti, a medieval construction of 84 m, provides excellent views of the city. Las Casas Mazzanti are examples of splendid palaces with frescoed facades. The Madonna Verona Fountain, is the symbol of the city.

This is a city to enjoy walking from square to square. In the dei Signori, do not miss the Patio del Mercado Viejo, inside the Palazzo della Ragione. The center is presided over by a statue of Dante, author of La Divina Comedia.
Verona exudes culture and art on all four sides, hence its protection as a World Heritage Site. Its small luxury hotels also reveal a distinguished stately spirit. Nobody can leave Verona without visiting the so-called House of Juliet, a beautiful palace from the twelfth century, although the balcony was recreated in the twentieth century. We are here, without a doubt, in a literary city. |
