Description: La Maison d'UlysseLa Maison d'Ulysse is a boutique guest house located on an estate that dates as far back as the 16th century. The house was the birthplace of the famous local poet, photographer and architect, Ulysse Dumas (1872-1909). Today, this painstakingly restored traditional Provençal farmhouse offers luxurious accommodation in an unsurpassable rural setting.
Strategically placed to enjoy the charms of this beautiful region, La Maison d'Ulysse is located in Baron, 13 km from Uzès and 20 km from Alès, at the crossroads between Provence, Languedoc and the Cevennes. The Pont du Gard is just a short drive away, while Avignon, Orange and Arlès are all within easy reach.
Accommodation is provided is six spacious rooms and suites, which combine the traditional architecture and décor of this historic house with modern design elements. Rooms have large double beds, en-suite bathrooms and all modern amenities. Guests can also enjoy the guest house's delicious table d'hôtes, created from the finest local produce and accompanied by fine wine from the region.

Tour du Gui Room:
No possibility of additional person or extra bed or baby. The Tour du Gui offers the advantages of its position in the very centre of the property. This room is in the heart of the estate, while enjoying complete privacy. Situated in the attic, at the top of a small tower. Guests will appreciate its coolness and its natural lime-washed walls. In terms of comfort, there is nothing to choose between it and the other rooms. It has a bathroom with a shower and a 180 x 200 cm bed. Its main advantage is the superb view that it offers of the garden, swimming pool and patio.
Baron Perché Room:
No possibility of additional person or extra bed or baby. The romantic atmosphere of the Baron Perché room provides the perfect setting for couples to spend a weekend together. Perched proudly at the top of the Maison d?Ulysse farmhouse, its elegance and coolness will enchant guests. The room provides an excellent view in the evenings, for gazing at the northern part of the garden of the guest house, the patio and the sunset. The Baron Perché room offers all of the comfort that guests would expect from a charming, privately-run establishment. The bathroom, with toilet and open-plan bathtub, is particularly attractive. One 180 x 200 cm bed, open-plan bathroom with toilet and bathtub.

Extra bed child (max 12 years): charged per night breakfast included The Chant du Mûrier Suite is the most suitable guest house room for young couples with babies and young children. Spacious and removed from other rooms, it allows young parents to spend pleasant nights, whatever the circumstances. From its private terrace, guests will enjoy a magnificent and protected view over the countryside and the south side of the garden with its splendid mulberry tree. This suite combines simplicity, elegance and sobriety of lines and materials. Its dashes of colours bring just what it takes for an enchanting atmosphere. Fleur Dumas Suite:
(max occupancy 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children). Optional additional person charged per night breakfast included. Baby - Free if under 2 years. Crib/cot rental: charged per night. When guests choose the Fleur Dumas suite, they will be staying the last room to have been lived in by the former owners. This room retains all its period charm. It still has the original ceramic tile flooring. On the ceiling, guests can see Belgian designer light fittings. The bathroom has retro style facilities dating from 1930, as well as a splendid bathtub for steamy baths. A shady private terrace is at guests' disposal as well as a spacious bedroom. One 180 x 200 cm bed, bathroom with bathtub, separate toilet, lounge with sofa bed, terrace. Possibility of an additional children?s bed.
Belle du Seigneur Suite:
(maximum occupancy 4 people. No possibility of baby). 1 Extra bed for a child (max 12 years) is charged per night breakfast included. The Belle du Seigneur suite is located in the oldest part of this luxury guest house. It is in the heart of the property, with a private space of 60 sq m at guests' disposal, including a fully furnished lounge and a fireplace. The suite has retained its charm of yesteryear, with its French-style ceiling. In the bedroom, the ceiling arches watch over your sleep. Guests will appreciate the sober and contemporary interior design, with its original light fittings. The old stone walls maintain a very pleasant temperature. This charming guest house room has a bathroom with separate shower and toilet. One 180 x 200 cm bed, bathroom with shower, separate toilet, lounge with sofa bed. Possibility of an additional child?s bed.
Petit Prince Apartment:
(max occupancy 4 people). With its poetic name, the "Petit Prince" suite is a 70 sq m apartment available for rent for guests' stay in Provence. The overall design is reminiscent of a movie scene with its retro but joyful and colourful atmosphere. The Smeg fridge, green anise chairs and ottoman (by Sancal), a sofa with large flowers on a blue background ("Queen" model by Vibieffe), gilded chandelier (from Light Years) contrast with the simplicity of the timbers and linen curtains. Authenticity and modernity! To one side, the bedroom and its vintage atmosphere: bright orange for the headboard (also acting as partition wall and closet). The bed cover in Alpaca (by Brun de Vian-Tirian) mixes genres with an original kilim (Hay). At the end of the room, an old wooden door opens onto the bathroom. Sleek and zen, the bathroom features a beautiful ONIX mosaic whose glass reveals its splendour in a ray of light. With a total area of 70 sq m, the "Petit Prince" apartment features all the necessary equipment for a stay in the south of France: a kitchenette (fridge, hob, espresso machine), stereo system for iPod / iPad / iPhone, etc. Ideal for a romantic stay in Provence. Finally, the lounge opens onto a 20 sq m "tropézienne" terrace. Protected from the wind, you can see everything all without being seen, admire the view of the countryside of Provence, relax in the sun or simply have a pleasant al-fresco evening aperitif.
